Remember Mya? What has she been up to lately? Actually Mya has still been making music, but on her own label. She was recently nominated for a Grammy for best female R&B performance. But here she is in her own words.

. Thanks for posting this, Huey. I'm really fond of Mýa, glad to see she's kept it real in all these years since leaving her label. She seems to be a well-spoken independent person. I really enjoyed her 'With Love' EP she released two years ago, as well as 'Sweet XVI', but she dropped of my radar after that. I really need to check out 'Smoove Jones'. I still bump 'Fallen', 'Case of the Ex', and 'Free' regularly. . Also she still looks gorgeous. . . . . [Edited 12/18/16 5:43am] I don't want your rhythm without your rhyme

She is up for RB album of the year quite an accomplishment since it was not in stores just digital and physically only sold on her website "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

It really is! I am happy for Mya. She has always been super sweet and down to earth and she still looks gorgeous! She deserves this accomplishment, very talented dancer too.

Thanks, she had some good jams, and is pretty good dancer, here are my favs
I even like the song she did with Blackstreet from The Rugrats Movie (1998)
And with Pras and Ol' Dirty Bastard in Getto Superstar from Bullsworth (1998)
Finally she was in Chicago (2002)

STILL as cute as a BUTTON! LOVED her "Moodring" album back 2003, especially "Anatomy 10 on 1" with Flyte Tyme! I'm SO glad that she in control of her career! Maybe she'll get the Grammy! That'd be sweet! Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

unlike Janet Jackson, it looks like not only did Mya get the "now-that-you're-'older'-how-about-dressing-more-like-it" memo.. it looks like she's.. actually following it. good for her. it is possible to be sexy at any age without "baring so much". (admittedly, I am curious to see how much skin Janet will show - if any - after she, uh, gives birth to this child..) . as a singer, I thought Mya was alright. enough. she has enough singing talent to warrant being a professional singer.. it also (then) appears that she chose the route of "personal artistic development" as opposed to "pandering to the already low standards of the fickle music-buying public by aiming for high commercials sales" (at the expense of "true artistic growth").. . hm. . I just might have to check out Mya's recent work..
I'll see you tonight..

It looks like you haven't been "looking" at much related to either artist, because Janet showed nothing from the neck down during her last tour, and Mya is still showing her oiled-down thighs (among other things) on some occasions lol.

Do you really think this is RnB album of the year over Hit and Run which received no noms other than engineering. Are there know members of the Grammy committee that even like R nB music or do people just randomly write stuff in. It is a WTF moment.

This album is the most "indie" thing that has ever been nominated. HAD no airplay marketing or even a label distributing it. Mint Condition and Lalah Hathaway are also nominated against her. Hit N Run is a great record too. THe grammy committe is not like the committee for the RnR hall of fame, its actual other recording artists in there too who nominate and vote.
