I've also noticed a big change in him since his mother passed away. He seems to be making darker music and just letting loose wherever possible. I think he really should take a break. Get some counseling and work his issues out privately at home. I can't believe some of the comments I've read about his mental state from people online. Whether u like him or not, depression is no joke and it seems we like to kick people when they're down rather than uplifting them. very sad. Just because someone is famous doesn't mean they're not human and fall on hard times. [Edited 11/22/16 12:21pm]

I certainly will not diagnose any one but from what I've observed, he appears to exhibit symptoms of manic depression. But, that is just an observation and, of course, could be wrong.

Perhaps after his mother passed he just kept working as a coping mechanism but now it's catching up with him. He needs to be in counseling.

Yes, not to mention I've heard he also takes medication for his bipolar disorder. Hope he gets better.

He has definitely shown delusions of grandeur. I wonder if all the people who cheered him on, thinking that he was "telling it like it is" when he bashed Taylor Swift or Beck's Grammy win, or obsessed over Beyonce, realized that that these statements and actions were the manisfestation of a disturbed mind

Yup...and to paraphrase/echo the sentiments of some in the showbiz community, hopefully he also has "people with the right energy and intention" around him at this time.

Ever since his mom passed his behavior became completely erratic and at times erring towards self-destructive. She appeared to be not only a loving, supportive mother, but a progressive, highly respected educator and intellectual who was both a nurturing and stabilizing force for her son. I can tell you that my experience as an adult child having lost a parent that you experience feelings of aimlessness when the one steadying force that you've known your entire life is suddenly gone. It's a transitional part of your life to lose the anchor that a parent represents. There seems to have been some issues with West not having time to properly grieve the death due to contractual obligations with his work schedule. So I get the possibility that he didn't quite bounce back from it, and like an aimless ship at sea with no compass for guidance, he's fallen into all kinds of trouble. I also see the connection he has to his current relationships (wife's family) as being potentially problematic as they are the only immediate family around him and they and the values they represent are a far cry from those of his mother.

The idea that he should go away and get out of the spotlight probably has Kris Jenner breaking out into hives.

Kanye is a musical icon. Whatever he's going through, by the power of God I trust he will soon get well and out of the hospital. With so much going on with his music, fashions, record label, and family, he needs a break from everything and to get some rest.

I feel it's possible he was latching onto Beyonce and jay z like they're his parents cause he experienced that loss and they are more like him than kardashians

Usually I can barely turn on the TV without seeing some Kardhassian relaled fuckery but suddenly I can't find one credible, mainstream news source giving any kind of update. Just tabloids.

I thought that they could only hold someone without a court order for 72 hours? Is he staying in the hospital voluntarily?

Nicely put. I also think this is the case. Good to know there are people who are willing to seriously examine his case, despite his antics the last 7 years.

He was definitely obsessed with them in some way, the same way he was obsessed with Taylor Swift for whatever reason, and with the importance of awards, and what they allegedly confer.

I am hoping Kanye has a speedy recovery. I can't believe the amount of people implying this incident was fake. SMH, what is happening to Kanye is sad and has been sad for years. People should not mock him. I have a feeling that Kanye will be blackballed by the Carters. This won't be the last of the industry token secrets being spilled. I praying Kanye evaluates his entourage and cut off some those folks.

Its common and easy to pick on people with mental illnesses, but not cool. I sometimes joke" about it but I try not to make it into something purposely cutting someone down because of it.

We all have quirks and some of them have biological reasons. I'm not a huge fan of Kanye and like everyone else roll my eyes at his "craziness" but never thought he was actually suffering from a condition likr he appears to be.

Like I said earlier, God speed and hope everyone who is ill gets better soon.

Well, he said some weird shit--- about Jay Z having "killers" -- wtf? Surely Jay Z has no killers, right? So what is he talking about? He was saying he put his life in danger by speaking? how so? Who wants to take his life or who is he scared of? Or is he just losing it? Kat Williams has said the same kind of stuff and of course, everyone says he's cracky. I don't think he is, so what's going on in Hollywood?

.

I feel for whatever Kanye is dealing with and I sincerely hope he gets well.

.

I am sorry for your loss. I have lost both my parents also, so I know the pain of losing a loved one. When you lose a parent, that pain of loss is on a whole different level.

.

I hope he takes some time off and gets much needed rest. I also hope he distances himself from the Kardashian crew, because they are not what he needs right now. They are too much drama! He needs love and comfort and prayers from those who truly care about his well-being.

Kanye is hurt and he was lashing out to anyone that would listen.

.

Kanye said: 'Jay Z, I know you got killas. Please don't send them at my head. Just call meā€”talk to me like I man,'
.

He had a falling out with JayZ over his last album, because he promoted his album exclusively with "Tidal" (JayZ's company), and lost a lot of money.

.

I really hope he gets rest and gets well and stays away from these toxic people.
