I really hope DapTone continues to uplift seasoned veteran artists, like Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley. Older unsung talent deserves some shine.

I Got A Thing On My Mind and its you Sharon! I remember hearing "I Learned The Hard Way" on here and hearing her voice for the first time. I bought that whole album on the strength of that track alone. Sharon you will be missed!!!

The first time I ever saw or heard of Sharon & the Dap-Kings was on David Letterman....Sharon was a Sassy & Soulful vocalist and when you watched her perform you knew she was doing what she was called to do..Sharon fought hard for Success and her Life......Sharon was Living Proof that God is NEVER through with you and your Greatest Blessings are yet to come...

Loved her. She was so inspiring. I'm lucky to have seen her with the Dap-Kings a few times. I'm glad Prince liked her, too. If you haven't heard their cover of "Take Me with U," seek it out. (And their retro-fied cover of Janet's "What Have You Done for Me Lately" is arguably even better--not that they were all about covers.)
