all the 80's artists had a hard time when hip hop and grunge came in the picture, which is about the time that ttd's masterpiece, SOD came out. I also love Neither Fish Nor Flesh, not perfect but still fucking amazing, it was probably more interesting to me than what Prince put out that year, Batman or what have you. My best friend pointed out that his beats left Prince in the dust, you know, I listened close and he was right and that says a lot. Prince has been called a "beatmaster" and smokey robinson said in his book that his rhythms are as african as anything. As for ttd's/sananda's later work, I have a hard time getting into it, they just don't seem well produced or fleshed out. I think he was smart though, America is brutal to black artists, just the fact that he's still here and his contemporaries are nearly gone speaks volumes. he sounds and seems happy and way more wise and humble than he used to.

"feels so good to love someone like you" still makes me cry. haven't put it on all yr but yeah, people slept on this one. he had problems with sony,like george michael did and after vibrator he kind of disappeared for a minute.

I am so glad that he did come back and is doing what is happening for him now. I wish him joy, success, and contentment.

Maybe one day he'll do a big-production-style album that will make all the stereophiles drool--but if not I'll still be okay. I enjoy his "Post-Millennium Rock" vibe of today.

you can hear alot of them on his various pages, without paying. His voice is still as good as ever. Some of the music i'm not crazy about but then i haven't listened to it all very closely.

Wildcard is an amazing album. After Prince´s passing I tried to catch up with his last albums and really enjoyed Return to Zooathalon. His voice is still awesome, and I was so glad he kept doing his thing.

When I miraculously happened across a copy of the Wildcard CD around the time that the reformatted album came out, after listening to it frequently I was thinking that it was the best album of that year and that it kicked Prince's Musicology's butt.

damn, is it that old? i don't remember it being that old. some of his titles are pretty clever, nigormortis, angels and vampires, dude gets pretty deep. some people don't like the pretentiousness of his lyrics but that don't take away from the fact that he really does some profound stuff with words. Not too many pop stars do.

Yep, it's been a minute! It was cool discovering that CD and then going online and checking out his website back then. There, he featured photos of his wedding that happened around that time that were touching, song download offerings, plus the usual historical/musical background, and his crazy cool writings. Sananda kicks the language down a notch from where TTD could roam, at times getting a bit lofty before he made his exit. He's always been loquacious but is more simple about getting his points across now by storytelling, I think. He'll throw names of mythology in some of those titles to keep things interesting and mark the timelessness of what he's sangin' about. And, eh, his age and experience today might add a quality of reflection to some songs that one could admire. His songs titled by women's names are still precious! Definitely check Angels and Vampires and Nigor Mortis for those if you please.
