make sure u post a review here, sonicfreak!!!  as 4 me, i live a few blocks up from first ave., so all i can do is open one of my windows and hopefully i'll be able 2 smell a bit of that p-funk if it drifts my way.

Concert was wonderful!! And I got in FREE because I am a First Ave. Member and it was a members concert! Anyway, I got there at about 9:00 and the opening band was on. For a P-Funk show the opener is usually associated with them or a a spin-off or something and this seemed to be the case. It was a couple of rappers with backing musicians and they played until about 9:30. Then there was a short break during which The Rainbow Children album was played!! Heard The Rainbow Children and Muse 2 the Pharoh! Then the real fun began as the band took the stage and started laying out the grooves... Many musicians, a few backup siger/dancers (one of whom was very, very, very... well let's just say not so hard on the eyes!!!) After about 45 minutes George came out and the party really got started!! All the classics were played from Maggot Brain to Atomic Dog to the above referenced BOOTY!! Dunno what else to say. They played until about 1:30 and George rarly left the stage for three hours he was shakin' it. Early on someone from the crowd handed a big joint to the eye-poppin' dancer and she brought it to George who took a big old toke on it 
coughed and then got a huge grin on his face!! He was darn happy the rest of the night!! Fun show! | |
