True is n amazing album. Very different from what is out there. Loved that one. Hope this one will be just as good, but seeing the guestlist, i wont have big expectations.

I've never been too crazy about her voice, but her creativity is extremely impressive and inspiring. I love her drive to stay true to who she is instead of conforming to the norm. I'm definitely going to check out this new album. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I'm psyched but I agree the guest list worries me. Then again take a look at how long the track list is: A Seat at the Table Track List 1. "Rise"

True was alright, LOSING YOU WAS MY JAMM. St Hadley's was a very good album as well, and was better than Sha Sha Fierce. I think Beyonce leared to be more real recently and has made better albums but I wish Solange success. Her last two have been really good. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Ditto all of this. I really liked True with its likeably odd vibe, but it did seem that it was Dev Hynes's creative input that made it what it was. Though he seems to have a guest spot on the new one, I don't see anything to suggest that he's had such a controlling hand in the process this time around, and that's a shame. Meh, when there's too many interludes it annoys me. I'm still going to check out the album anyway though. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Her "poetry" is horrible. I would be surprised if her album goes to #1. Maybe if she titled it Tales from the Elevator

IDK too much about Solange but considering that anybody can score a #1 album these days, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised.
Having a US chart-topping album isn't the great achievement it used to be especially when it no longer guarantees heightened promotion for an artist or their album. [Edited 9/29/16 9:49am]

Just downloaded its interesting she being distributed by her sisters current label Columbia. Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

Q TIP is very buried in the mix on that track... Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

She is way more talented and interesting than Beyonce. I like what I have heard on the album so far and I also like that she is not a follower and I actually like her tone I think its quite pretty.

This album contains more originality than anything her sister has attempted in years. Yeah, I said it.

The vibe and video reminds me of Corinne Bailey Rae.

i like the album alot, not crazy about the videos.i love the laid back soulful vibe of the album and i like that she is singing the songs and not doing that annoying rap/sing/talk thing her sister has fell in love with. well done solange.

The album is very smooth like coffee but firm and stern in lyrical content. There is alot of pro african american talk. Quotes from her mother and Master P and Baby in and out about succeeding despite the challenges against them as a minority stuck out. Its a deepy personal album, however this being said it alienates audiences in spots to an extent. There are well done musical elements and production, Raphael Saddiq did a very good job with the balance between using drum machines and live instrumentation. Well done. Its not a classic, but a firm statement made on her own. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

While appreciate that Solange tries to be some what creative with her music. However, her "quirky" brand seems very fake. Some of these videos seems like she is trying way to hard to be different and I don't think she is all that original. I hear some people calling Solange innovative, But why? What she tries to do is no different from what Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae, D Angelo does and they do it way better.

Great album and this is not new for Solange. She always was a bit more Neo-soul alternative. Hell she covered the damn Dirty Projectors.

^ I hear you and don't disagree. However, I disagree with calling Solange innovative or original when this type of music has been going on since the 70's and even some 90 acts continue to do it now.

Was hoping she had written some songs on her own instead of having so many cowriters, nonetheless it's a great album. Love is God,

Tried to buy it on CD this weekend, and no dice. Does this album exist in the real world?

Its available at Electric Fetus here in Minneapolis. Maybe no Canada release? I see it says release for a November date...but I physically seen it..held it and picked it up there. I know I'm not dreaming unless it was CD-R inside lol Straight Jacket Funk Affair
