I've never heard of these, but I like all the rest. Some of them I have. Take My Breath Away, I got tired of hearing at the time because it was played so much. There used to be a local music video channel, and Berlin's song literally came on every 20 minues or less some days (and so did Timbuck 3's I Gotta Wear Shades and The Warrior by Scandal). But I can tolerate it now. But I've never liked the remix for it. I heard Macarena on the radio the other day. I liked the original version better than the one with the English lyrics (Bayside Boys remix), which was the one that was played more. I don't like Macarena enough to buy it, but it's ok. I don't care about Who Let The Dogs Out, but I liked it at first. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

This list is a joke.
Because I can think of a list of more horrible songs that should have never been recorded.
Hate all you want on We are the World but its a CLASSIC. It is an Iconic song that can't be denied. When that song comes on, people of all races, background, culture, etc sing a long.

According to NY Post readers these are the 20 worst songs. I'm proud to say I am not a NY Post reader. This list is worthless.

The Joker and Hey, Jude don't belong on this list. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Fuck them. What do they know? What qualifies them to make that statement? And really... the worst songs are the thousands and millions of songs that were written and thankfully no one ever got to hear. So really, this list is bs.

Funny that, I'll take most of the songs on this list over most of the current crap on the charts today... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I seriously can't understand how We built this city is the worst song of all time. I actually like it. I don't understand one word Designer says on Panda. What about Laffy Taffy? Can't remember who did that one. Some rap one hit wonders i think. Disco Duck rules! It's better than any of Taylor Swift's entire catalog.

"Party All The Time" is a fun 80s song

We are the world is total crap. Wendy even confirmed that Prince thought the song sucked.

Exactly! I don't understand how it's been coined the worst song ever all of a sudden. It makes no sense to me.

the thing with "Disco Duck" is....it's a parody,a joke....it's not meant to be taken seriously. In 1976,Rick Dees noticed that everything was suddenly becoming "disco",so he wrote a fun song about it.To say that it is one of the worst songs ever....they clearly don't get the joke

How anyone didn't get the joke is beyond me. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Who cares what Prince thought, he was an asshole during this period. The song is iconic and a classic, period.

^You do realize you're on a Prince fan site, don't ya? Of course nobody agrees with this list, but the comment about We Are the World is spot on.

You do realize that I don't care? Prince was a butthole in the 80's and that takes nothing away from his genius. Regardless whether you think the song is corny or not its a classic and iconic. The song gets played today so your opinion has no bearing when people obviously like the song and it still influences 30 years later

You have to admit is indeed a little corny, Heal The World is much better.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yes, but Yesterday is a masterpiece as well, de hecho es mucho mejor que Hey Jude.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
That list is nonsense. There are literally hundreds of worse songs than even the shittiest song on this list.

[Edited 11/5/16 20:44pm] Just because she doesn't like We Are The World doesn't necessarily mean she's biased against Michael Jackson. I mean, she might be, but judging someone based on her dislike of a song MJ co-wrote isn't really getting the full story. I'm definitely NOT biased against MJ, he's one of my favourite artists of all time. But I hate We Are The World. It was great for what it was and it raised awareness and all that but as a song, it's not exactly Billie Jean is it? If you like it, then I'm happy for you but just because other people don't like it doesn't mean they're "losers".

Why is this even a conversation? If a "corny" song is iconic and proved itself to be classic 30 years later after its initial release and still is influential, I think its foolish to continue to call the said song "corny" when obviously the song still reasonates with culture and people decades later. The Grammys recently re-did the song after Michael passed with over 50 musicians, artists, producers, and songwriters of various genres and I like We are the World, its truly a beautiful song and I think the reason why its so iconic is because all walks of life, races and backgrounds relate to the lyrics and the attention it brought to the HIV/AIDS and poverty epidemic in Africa.
