Miles Davis
John Coltrane Duke Ellington Jimi Hendrix The Beatles James Brown Chuck Berry Marvin Gaye Muddy Waters Robert Johnson Stevie Wonder Ella Fitzgerald Bruce Springsteen Sade Sly Stone and, the most imitated artist of the last 20 years . . . Prince. How many Prince imitators? Let us count them: TTD, George Michael, D'Angelo, RFTW, Maxwell, Bilal, Lenny Kravitz, Thicke, Justin Timberlake, Jamiroquai, Janet Jackson (I said it), Michael Jackson (I'll say it again if I need to), Eric Benet, and countless others have tried to lay claim to Prince's "realm" of genre-breaking NewPowerSoul. Many of them are good, but none could come close. As for Janet being imitated, it's more or less Jimmy and Terry's Minneapolis Sound-influenced pop production and the video techniques that has been imitated than Janet's "sound," which is thin and tinny. I got love for Janet -- I'm IN LOVE with Janet -- but let's be real. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Midnight Star also Jacked "Billie Jean" on there Cut "Night Rider" from the "No Parking on the Dance Floor" Album.Bar Kays Jacked Rick James's "Super Freak" on there own Song "freak Behavior".***Michael Jackson---The Bar-Kays' 1984 hit "Dirty Dancer" stole it's synth line from Michael's "Billie Jean".Similarly,Billy Ocean's 1984 hit "Carribean Queen" also sounds a little too much like "Billie Jean". ***Midnight Star---The Bar Kays basically stole their 1983 song "No Parking On The DanceFloor" and re-titled it "Freakshow On The Dancefloor". mistermaxxx | |
