THAT '70s FUNK, a carefully curated collection of funky jams from the 70's. Hi all, I thought I'd share with you a 70's funk playlist I compiled on Spotify. More songs may be added and the order may be changed. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

There actually is another piece I like from his 1971 album; "Thank You for Talkin' to Me, Africa". I'll see if I can include that somewhere in the playlist, and look into Sly's discography a bit more. Do you have any suggestions?

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Well obviously I am gonna say there should be more P-Funk on the list. That being said I am still moving my ass off to these jams.

I have included a few more P-funk songs along with others that have a similar style. "Ridin' High" by Parlet is definitely a new favorite. I will continue looking for more. Yet, if you have any suggestions, please let me know. [Edited 11/4/16 5:23am]
