In an an alternate universe, the Victory Tour...

Is actually dedicated to the album and the brothers with [a motivated] Michael on board perform the album's songs. How does this play out?

In another alternate universe, instead of joining his bros on the Victory Tour in 1984, Mike instead tours in 1983 in support of Thriller. So without Mike, Jermaine, Jackie, Tito, Marlon and Randy embark on the Victory Tour in 1984 anyway. How do you think the Victory Tour fares?

In a third timeline, Mike tours in support of Thriller from 1983 into 1984 and months later joins his bros on the Victory. How does that go?

I've always felt that Michael should have done his own tour in 1983/84.Can you imagine the 'Thriller World Tour'?! That would have been incredible!! Some fans strongly disagree with me when I say this, but I think that, after Off The Wall,Michael didn't need his brothers anymore. At that point,he should have just became a permanent solo act.

Michael's heart wasn't in the Victory tour anyway. He didn't wanna do it,but his mother persuaded him to.I think the real purpose of that tour was to help the brothers out.Their careers had stalled at that point and Michael had become the biggest star on the planet. They wanted to piggyback on the amazing success that Michael was having.

I wouldn’t say their career’s had stalled. The brothers were actually quite busy. Between the Triumph Album-Tour and Victory Album-Tour.
I won’t even include Jermaine, as he had his own successful career.
Marlon was writing songs for Barry White and producing for R&B regular Berry Wright (not to mention baby sister Janet.)
Tito was producing and writing for other artist.
Randy was still recovering from his accident. Still found time to write and produce for older sister La Toya.
Jackie is the odd man out, other than playing with Paula Abdul not sure what he was up too between 81-84.

Jermaine was having success with the Dynamite album though. His album topped
the R&ab charts in 1984 and peaked at 19 on the pop charts. He's had other hits
too that's why it pisses me off that he's a bit lazy as far as going out on tour.
He could easily be a staple on the old school summer circuit tour. He could do his own music and some Jackson Five classics.

The Victory album was like their version of The Beatles Revolver album where each sibling did their owns songs so to speak. From the footage I've watched it was a good show....but u could tell by the last LA show that MJ was sooooo over it, when he announced it was gonna be their last tour as a group. I bet the siblings and Joe was pissed off when MJ did this turing their show.

It's a shame to me that Michael wasn't more committed to the whole Victory album/tour project. Ditto Jermaine, who seemed enthusiastic about the tour but barely appears on the album after the first track. Michael could've helped to deliver easily the best Jacksons album and tour ever, then go out with a bang by suddenly announcing his departure from the group. Instead, it was like a very public and awkward divorce with all of the stories that went around.

But yeah, a Thriller Tour could've been brilliant as well. It would've presumably been a lot like the first leg of the Bad Tour.

Jermaine didn't come in play until much later. The LP was basically done when Jermaine joined in. That's why he has no solo tracks and appears on 2. Torture was done already with Jackie co-lead as he wrote it.

But why was Michael obligated too? After OTW, it was clear he wanted to make other types of music, write his own music and be a solo act. Thriller was HIS solo album and should have been HIS solo tour. His brothers had no right to piggy back off his solo success. When the brothers and Joe found out Michael did not want to tour, they should have simply respected that instead of trying to capitalize off his success but this is a pattern with the Jacksons and MJ. They always used him to get more money.

The Brothers always wind up getting trashed in the end

and sadly, history is swaying that way by those in position to tell this story

with all that being said, as a teenager, I felt the Victory Tour was not a good idea and that Michael deserved to conduct any tour during 1983 or 1984 as a solo artist

not because I felt the brothers were trash and never will feel that way

but because Michael deserved that moment for his amazing success of Thriller

and the Victory Tour itself, the ticket system was too expensive for many record buyers, particularly his black supporters, who always set the foundation

and the show itself was an attempted rehash of the Triumph Tour w/that tour being the best live stage performance MJ ever did, his brothers ever did.

Yeah sadly Michael and Janet fans hate the brothers, as if they had nothing to do with their families success.

But I agree Michael probably should've done a Thriller tour.

Still would've ushered in hundred dollar tickets though.

What does this have to do with the fact that the brothers pressured Michael for a tour that should have been his solo tour? In this respect, the brothers had nothing to do with that and that was all Michael's solo success the brothers were simply trying to capitalize off of. Yall always make the brothers as angels when they are not. They should not have had tour nor pressured to tour with Michael during the height of Thriller, period.

WTF? lol

Okay why is Michael's hand on Randy's chest. Marlon is sporting lemon short shorts. Jackie is

just chilling with a wrap on his right hand and Tito is like dad do I really have to take this picture right now the way these guys are dressed. Tito wearing them Sergio Valente's though. lol

Just a little humor because I can't with the MJ vs his brothers or MJ vs Prince bullshit.

I remember in 1992, people around town were talking about how much they would shell out to see Michael, but he never came close to Canada again, I don't think.
