Two new Prince albums coming; 'Prince4Ever' arrives Nov. 22Roughly one week after the official Prince tribute concert comes news that two new releases are on their way. Warner Bros. and NPG Records announced Friday that they will premiere Prince4Ever, a collection of 40 of Prince's greatest hits, in the U.S. on Nov. 22 (the record will be available worldwide on Nov. 25). The compilation, which includes classic tracks such asWhen Doves Cry, Kiss, Little Red Corvette, Purple Rain and Raspberry Beret, will also contain a previously unreleased track, Moonbeam Levels. The song was originally recorded in 1982 as part of the sessions for 1999. It will also include a 12-page booklet featuring never-seen-before photos shot by legendary photographer Herb Ritts. Prince4Ever will be followed by a deluxe, remastered edition of Purple Rain — the original soundtrack to his 1984 film of the same name — to be released in early 2017. That edition will be accompanied by a second album of previously unreleased material. The label says these plans were already underway and approved by Prince before he died on April 21. The releases are a salute to fans' enduring love for Prince's catalog. The chameleonic artist's sales soared following his death, with fans snapping up over 2.8 million digital songs...000 albums in the first week alone.
Prince Purple Rain Reissue, Greatest Hits Album AnnouncedThe remastered, deluxe edition of Purple Rain will arrive early 2017, and a “second album of previously unreleased material” will followA reissue of Prince’s 1984 classic Purple Rain has been announced. The remastered, deluxe reissue arrives in early 2017 via NPG Records/Warner Bros, and has been developed using plans that were “agreed [upon] with Prince before he passed away,” according to a press release. The Purple Rain reissue will also “arrive with a second album of previously unreleased material.” More details will be revealed closer to the release date. Additionally, a new greatest hits album, Prince 4Ever, has also been announced. That’s out November 22 in the U.S. and will feature 40 of the Purple One’s best-known tracks, as well as a previously unreleased one titled “Moonbeam Levels.” Check out the album artwork and full tracklist for that below. Stream Tove Lo’s New Album ‘Lady Wood’
Tove Lo hones her craft on Lady Wood. With help from Wolf Cousins, comprised of Swedish hitmakers Max Martin and Tom Talomaa (the masterminds behind 2014’s Queen of the Clouds), Lo has found her sound. Ms. Lo launched the record with “Cool Girl” and her Wiz Khalifa-assisted track “Influence,” but those don’t scratch the emotional surface of what she’s capable of. Related: Tove Lo Announce... Wood Tour In her latest LP, Lo is left standing in the ashes from the bridges she’s burned. Her launch into super stardom this year propelled the pop singer into unfamiliar territory in her personal life. Now, she’s forced to tend to relationships that are affected because of her notoriety, which she addresses in the album title track, “Flashes,” as well as “Don’t Talk About It.”
Lo also finds conflict in romance. In “Keep It Simple,” she sings about an internal struggle living life in the fast lane.
In “Vibes,” which features Joe Janiak, Lo sings softly about blissful love over an acoustic guitar before dreamy electro production hijacks the beat. Most of Lady Wood is cohesive in that sense – there’s an underlying synthy element attached to each song. “My worry after the first record was that I wasn’t going to be able to be as personal and open because I was scared because of all the reactions,” she said in one of the album’s mini films named Fairy Dust. “I got a lot of love for being honest and being raw and vulnerable and admitting to mistakes, but there were also a lot of mean comments that my mom always seems to keep finding on the internet.” She adds: “I realized I spend my life chasing rushes, whether it’s love or being on stage or drugs. [The album is] like every different stage of that rush.”
Shakira And Maluma Team Up On New Song “Chantaje”: Listen
UPDATE // OCTOBER 27: Following Shakira’s recent hit with Carlos Vives on “La Bicicleta,” which she‘ll perform at the AMAs, is her new duet with Maluma. The song is titled “Chantaje,” which means “Blackmail” in English. The pair teamed up with producers Kevin Jimenez, Chan “El Genio” and Kenai for the track, which boasts a fiery Latin beat and infectious background vocals and breathy vocals from the Colombian singer who coos “pretty boy” at the end, aimed at her very handsome “Chantaje” collaborator. Tu eres puro, puro chantaje / Puro, puro chantaje / Siempre es a tu manera,” they sing. “Yo te quiero aunque no quieras / Tu eres puro chantaje.” Listen below: UPDATE // OCTOBER 25: Shakira’s new song with Maluma is officially titled “Chantaje,” which translates to “Blackmail” in English. “I hope you guys been paying attention to the clues I’ve been posting today,” Shakira said on Instagram. “I will send a DM to one of the first to correctly guess the name of my new single and the artist I’ve collaborated with. Post your guesses in the comments below, and keep an eye on your Insta inbox…”
Listen To Charli XCX’s New Song “After The Afterparty” Featuring Lil Yachty
UPDATE // OCTOBER 27: Charli XCX’s new song “After The Afterparty” is a sugary sweet melodic affair. “After the afterparty, we’re gonna keep it going / We’re gonna rip it up, the neighbours might complain”, she sings over a twinkly production and monstrous beat. It’s youthful, anthemic and quirky Monday through Sunday. Listen to the rebellious new tune below:
Charli XCX readies her return with new song “After The Afterparty” with help from rapper Lil Yachty. The pop star is more comfortable in her skin than ever. Not only is she finalizing her upcoming record which she says is “the most pop thing I’ve done,” but fans can expect the first taste of it later this month (“After The Afterparty” will reportedly drop Oct. 28). “I’m going to be putting a record out soon and it’s going to be the most pop thing I’ve done,” she said earlier this year. “I’m just finishing it but I can’t say anything yet. I’ve been in LA chilling and it’s great to be back in London.” The Sucker singer also said this year it’s “the most pop [..] and the most electronic” album she had produced yet and it seems that statement still holds true as she has collaborated with SOPHIE, BloodPop and Stargate for the bulk of the songs. SOPHIE produced the brilliant “Vroom Vroom” that was debuted on Beats 1 Radio last year. “There are some high-octane plastic moments and then more piano ballad situations,” Charli went on to say. And if that doesn’t hype you up, here’s a new photo of Charli posing naked. Like I said: comfortable.
Here’s the album art: Here’s Kylie Minogue’s ‘Kylie Christmas’ Snow Queen Edition Tracklist
UPDATE // OCTOBER 26: The CD and DVD tracklist for Kylie’s Minogue’s Kylie Christmas was posted to Amazon, confirming a couple of new tunes and collaborations from Iggy Pop, Frank Sinatra(!!!), James Corden and sister Dannii Minogue. Snow Queen Edition It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year Bolded tracks symbolize new songs. EARLIER // SEPTEMBER 6: Kylie Minogue will re-release her Christmas record before pursuing the next studio album.Bittersweet news for fans of Australia’s pop princess. Minogue confirms she’s updating 2015’s Kylie Christmas with a couple more festive tracks before turning her attention to the next LP. “We’ve got some really, really good new additions to the Christmas album for this year,” Kylie told news.com.au. We’ll take her word for it, but what about that followup to 2014’s Kiss Me Once? According to the “Million Miles” crooner, it’s in the beginning stages. “I have started work on new material, the way the year’s panned out I won’t have that much time to work on it but my brain’s working overtime,” she said. “I’m so keen to get what’s in my brain out and turn it into what I hear in my head, make that a reality. So new music is really, consistently on my mind. I’ve opened the door and stepped into the room but I’ve yet to spend as much time there as I look.” One person she opened that door with is longtime collaborator Robbie Williams. The two recorded a song together 16 years ago titled “Kids,” and they’re finally crafting a followup though it’s unclear whether it will land on his forthcoming record or hers. “Where it’s going to go I couldn’t tell you, but it’s very good,” says Kylie. Here’s to hoping it’s not a “Jingle Bells” remix. TLC Tease Two New Songs: “Joy Ride” and “Haters”
Slowly but surely, TLC is working on new music.First order of business: Tinashe, please release Joyride, because TLC is about to snatch up the title (unless Rihanna gets to it first). Moving on. In January 2015, Chilli and T-Boz urged fans to donate towards their $150,000 target goal on Kickstarter to fund their fifth and final album. The duo opted out of label support, so their fans stepped in and helped the ladies reach their goal and then some. At the time, they ended up amassing $430,000 (which included a $5,000 donation from Katy Perry). The duo promised an album towards the end of 2015, but in November of that year, they updated the Kickstarter page with a message saying it won’t drop until 2016. We’re nearing the end of the year, and there’s no definite plans to put forth a new record. However, a promising sign lies ahead; they plopped two new song previews onto Apple Music: “Joy Ride” and “Haters.” In “Joy Ride,” Chilli and T-Boz cruise in harmony to a throwback ’90s-inspired beat. “Enjoy the ride with me,” they sing in unison. “I’mma take you back down memory lane tonight.” “Haters,” on the other hand, gets off to a shaky start. It sounds like a bop you and your squad would make in sixth grade. Oh, the irony.

Mary J. Blige Covers Bruce Springsteen’s “American Skin (41 Shots)” Featuring Kendrick Lamar
Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar do their part in reversing the hate in America with a remake of Bruce Springsteen’s “American Skin (41 Shots).”Remember the cringeworthy moment where Blige sang a bit of this ...ry Clinton during their sit-down interview together? Hard to watch, but fortunately a studio version of the cover is available, and it’s far more enthralling this way. Lamar’s contribution is an original verse. “These days murder keep ’em busy,” he rhymes. “Sweet blood flowed on the gurney / Yellow tape tied around the street / Colin Kaepernick was more than worthy.” Mary sings, “Well, is it a gun? Is it a knife? / Is it a wallet? This is your life / It ain’t no secret / No secret my friend / You can get killed just for living in your American skin.” “American Skin” follows Blige’s recent release titled “... Of It,” the first official release off her forthcoming album Strength of a Woman. It’s not clear if the Springsteen cover will make the cut. The Chainsmokers and Halsey Get “Closer” In New Music Video
Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers and Halsey are scantily clad and kissing in their new music video for “Closer.”The Chainsmokers just announced their new EP titled Collage drops Nov. 4 and will feature four brand new songs, as well as their chart-topping hit “Closer,” which gets a proper video treatment of Taggart and Halsey having a romp in the sheets for mostly the entire clip. Collage also features collaborations with XYLØ, Phoebe Ryan, Charlee and Days. Watch the “Closer” video below: Collage tracklist: Katy Perry Is Working With Max Martin And Shellback On KP4
Katy Perry is collaborating with the heavy hitters on her next studio album.Following the third and final Presidential debate last night, Katy Perry took to Twitter and re-worded Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan to better fit her needs. She wrote: “MAKE LYRICS GREAT AGAIN” and included Max Martin and Shellback in it. Martin helped give Katy some of the biggest hits of her career, including “I Kissed A Girl,” “California Girls,” “Teenage Dream,” “Roar” and “Dark Horse,” among others. To my knowledge, this is Perry’s first time collaborating with Shellback, who, along with Martin, played a significant role crafting Taylor Swift’s 1989 record. Katy Perry To Perform Fre...l Election I admit… it’s a stretch to include Swift in this, but Perry’s response to “Bad Blood” is not only expected, it’s vital.
“I’m working with a lot of unexpected writers and producers and … that’s bringing out a lot of different things sonically,” she continued. “Even when I was working with my go-to producers, I’d always push them to play me a beat that was reserved for Three 6 Mafia or something like that… I know exactly how to write a lyric over that because my strengths are melody and lyrics. I’m putting myself in unexpected situations and that is breeding a lot of new color.” In August, Perry told Ryan Seacrest she’s “in the thick” of recording. “I’m just taking some chances. I’m just having a lot of fun, but experimenting and trying different producers, and different collaborators, and different styles. I’m not rushing.” When pushed for a release date, Perry remained tight-lipped, however it’s rumored the “Roar” singer’s fourth studio album could drop as soon as October. “I’ve got some timelines in my head. But you hear about people going, ‘don’t take too much time.’ And I’m like listen, listen. Let me tell you one thing: music is all that matters. If the music is good, everybody forgets about the time that you took to make it,” adding she puts in 110% into everything she does and is “confident if I stay vulnerable and authentic with myself that the music that comes out of me will continue to connect.” Her 1984 is coming. Maty Noyes Mourns a Dying Relationship on ‘Falling Out of Love': PopCrush PremiereCourtesy of Republic Records
Pop music is often equated, albeit unfairly, with sugar. Saccharine, addicting and occasionally lacking in intellectual or emotional nutrition, some pop is a scrumptious dessert at best: delicious, if not necessarily fulfilling. But not so for Maty Noyes. The “Stay” singer-songwriter crafts pop with an edge. She’s sugar in the raw, possessing an authenticity that is unfiltered, from her vocal prowess to her lyrical savoir faire to the sonic layering of her songs. This is no more apparent than on “Falling Out of Love,” the melancholy, mid-tempo song off her forthcoming (and cleverly-titled) debut EP, Noyes Complaint. As twinkling music box synths and light R&B electronics kick in, the track initially seems like a sweet, airy musical diary entry, all gossamer and mellow. But when the beat kicks in, Maty’s vocals become more yearning, more earnest—more pained—and it suddenly becomes clear that “Falling Out of Love” is a powerful confessional. “I think I’m falling out of luh-uh-uhve / Uh oh oh oh / Falling out of luh-uh-uhve with you,” the singer admits on the chorus, her voice undulating above the synth waves that crash around her like late-night revelations. The song is brutally honest and, if you’ve ever been through the gut-wrenching ache of drifting away from your partner, a powerful reminder of that feeling. “And when I try to say your name / The words don’t sound the same / So you’re feeling all this pain / Well, I don’t feel a thing…” Maty confesses one one heartbreaking—and devastatingly relatable—verse. “This song means so much to me because it’s so honest about the situation I was going through,” the songwriter tells us. “Right off the bat it takes you straight into the motion of how I’m feeling. There’s no sugarcoating the pain in the lyrics. There’s nothing like going through an amazing relationship you think has forever potential, only to fall out of love. It hurts so much because at that point even if you’re not in love, you still care about that person so much.” Maty may be falling out of love, sure… but the sincerity in her songwriting and the truth in her honeyed voice only has us falling deeper. Listen to Maty Noyes’ “Falling Out of Love” below. Maty’s debut EP, Noyes Complaint, is out October 28. Her current single, “In My Mind,” has over 40 million streams on Spotify.
