Alicia Keys' New Album

Alicia Keys' new album will be Here on November 4.

The album, titled Here, is Alicia's sixth studio album, and her first since 2012's Girl on Fire. In a statement, she says, "On this album, I've arrived HERE...a place where I'm willing to truthfully look at myself in the mirror and to also see the reality of who we have become in this world. The good, the ugly, the shadows and the light."

The new single, "Blended Family (What You Do for Love)," featuring A$AP Rocky, was "my family's personal journey to cultivate deeper understanding, compassion, support and love," according to Alicia. "To me, family has no singular definition and the modern family is made up of all kinds of beautiful people willing to put love first."

Here
is produced by Alicia, Swizz Beatz, songwriter and producer Mark Batson, and Alicia's longtime collaborator, Harold Lilly.

cool Love that pic. I hope it's a good album. The last one was good, but the one before I did not dig.

I love that picture too. She looks a bit wilder than usual and if the same goes for the music... I'd love that.

I love Alicia but why does she always have to try and sound deep? She always has some corny paragraph to go with her releases. lol lol

You know, she always reminds me of Bob Dylan:
I've been thinking of Alicia Keys, I couldn't keep from crying
But she was born in Hell's Kitchen, I was living down the line
I'm wondering where in the world Alicia Keys could be
I've been looking for her even clear through Tennessee
(Thunder on the Mountain on the Modern Times album from 2006.)

It's so true she comes across a little melodramatic at times with those statements. I just hope the music is good because imo, she hasn't been good since her second album. I really dislike the song girl on fire. Ugh. It lacks any soul or passion.

She's gonna have a lot of work to do ever since Solange came out and shook everybody!

I like this more than any Alicia song since her first two albums. I hope the rest of the material on the album stands up. A bunch of new albums coming out soon, I see. smile

-- Because she thinks she is smart and she is not. That crap that she pulled on the BET awards tells you everything about her.

Always amused me how her name pops up randomly in that song. biggrin She repaid the compliment with a nice rendition of a bit of Bob's holy rollin':

I haven't been impressed with anything by Alicia Keys in years. She completely lost her musical identity after The Diary of Alicia Keys. Her first two albums are great R&B albums. IMO, her current music is very shallow and I don't think it is a true reflection of her ideas. I do like that she is promoting the "no make up" look and natural look because I think that is a positive message for young girls.

I like her voice, personality, and look, but agree that she has been a disappointment since such a promosing start. hopefully, her new album can reverse the trend.

I agree. Her first two were where it was at and after that, a very slow, painful decline. I DID LIKE "The Fire We Make" with Maxwell tho. This new song isn't really resonating with me at ALL. No LIKEY!!! sad
