According to this thread, the followup to FFF was shelved indefinitely, and Stevie opted to work on Songs in the Key of Life instead.

But I didn't understand why that project, Fulfillingness' Second Finale, would be shelved for no reason... until I saw this documentary on youtube, Stevie's Wonder Men:

Malcolm Cecil and the partner Robert Margouleff both worked in tandem with Stevie Wonder to produce & record the materal that became his 4 classic 70s albums leading up to SITKOL.

After completion of Fulfillingness' First Finale, the two producers had a falling out with Stevie and I presume that's why the sequel to FFF was shelved. Anyway, I just finally put 2 + 2 together, and I think this is the likley cause behind what happened.

Perhaps most interesting is that Stevie supposedly recorded hundreds of songs during his collaberation with Cecil & Margouleff and many of these songs remain locked away.

I had never heard that song before, it sounds like a beautiful song. FF is and underrated album in his classic period, to me is a better album than SITOL. Just Ain't No Use alone isbetter than most of the songs from Songs. How is it possible so far we don't have as much leaks from Stevie as we have from Prince?

I get chills when I listen to Stevie's unreleased songs/demos from the 70s.This will never happen,but I would love for Stevie to officially release those recordings.

yeah,it's the curse of being prolific It was the same way with Prince,too.

Watched the YouTube link on last night. Thanks for posting. Gotta admit- I'd never heard of the dudes but it was a good piece to watch. My question for now is this: what were the Key of Life songs that were "leftovers" from the Innervisions/Fulfillingness sessions that the piece hinted at?

40th anniversary of SITKOL came and went, we are fast approaching 50 years since the beginning of his classic period. I would love for him to open the vaults. In fact, he recorded many of his later songs much earlier in his career. The early demo of Crying Through The Night sounds like a smooth, funky Donny Hathaway song. There is a lot there, I would love to hear it.

In the SITKOL documentary DVD (pictured below),one of Stevie's bandmembers says that there are many outtakes from that album! I hope we can hear them someday.
