New Doc, 8 Days A Week, the Beatles on tour. Ron Howard directed, proving they were the best live band as well:
They were a boy band, but also great artists. Note the ironies of these days. Ringo was a great drummer. We have to admit. All you others say Hell Yea!!

I haven't watched it yet, although it has surfaced on several well-known Torrent sites. And you know that can't be bad. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

There's a matinee tomorrow--gonna catch that one. It will be great to see it on the big screen. A nice follow up to the "Ladies and Gentlemen...The Beatles!" museum exhibition I saw last year. It was an interesting note that for the last seven years of their career, before their break up in 1970 - they never toured. They gave into the loud noise by screaming fans, and couldn't compensate with the amps available at the time to override the noise. For me, some of their best work came after that point - not that the two are related. It just seemed to be a more creative period for them. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

. Well, no -- they toured until 1966, and almost non-stop into August 1965 before slowing down. . They were a very 60s band. They first used the name "Beatles" in mid-1960, and the 4 members were last in the same room together in September, 1969. So, it was all in the 1960s.* . As a live act, The Beatles were a club band. Once it went beyond the clubs, they gave up trying to improve or adapt, live. As early as 1963 or 1964, they were already far more motivated by studio recording than live performance. . . . *(Yeah, technically the last recording sessions were in January and April 1970, but all 4 were not present, and only Ringo was present at the very last "Beatles" session in April.) . . . . . NOTE FOR MODS, if they care: This Forum makes it impossible to type paragraphs, which is possibly the most annoying thing ever. For this reason alone, I rarely contribute to Prince.org anymore -- it's simply too much trouble create paragraphs, and I can't be bothered. [Edited 9/20/16 21:22pm]

Most of the torrent sites have been taken down by law enforcement, big time anyway.

It's a really good film. I have some of their music, but to see how they handled themselves in the midst of the insanity and grueling schedule. And they used their experiences to grow artistically. Most bands who went through such crushing mania wouldn't have been able to make albums like Rubber Soul, Revolver, White Album, Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road.
