Such is the case with Watley. Aside of her AWESOME, mostly Andre Cymone-produced debut and its followup, nothing she's ever done has really been mindblowing. Her "fashion sense," often seems 2 lack clarity and only serves in making an older woman appear younger in the sense that she looks severely dated. Her dancing as well is even dated and lacks freshness. Janet Jackson, though just as weak a vocalist, can STILL, at 49 y/o dance CIRCLES around her. What has soured my like for Watley is how she just keeps on tooting her own horn and 30 years later, it only served in making her appear arrogant and attention-seeking. It was time 2 move on YEARS AGO. Hewitt and Daniels did it and no one will EVER remember the name, Shalamar except when/where the aformentioned two former members are concerned. "Reloaded" is NOT gonna work. EVER. You simply CANNOT breathe new life into an old (once famous) outfit's name by using such a cliched adjective. Case in point: Until Mary Davis was reunited with the original lineup of the S.O.S. Band, there was NO RELOAD; only the addition of new vocalists and we all KNOW what the fate of THAT RELOAD was. FLOP city. Watley, though talented and driven to a point, needs to get over it and move on (solo) more than WITH a pointless reload of a band hardly ANYONE outside of the Old School R&B/Dance circle would even remember. MY opinon ONLY and no disrespect intended.

I agree.The whole "Shalamar Reloaded" concept is silly and stupid.She thinks she's taking the group into a new,modern direction but this new group is terrible.Also,if she is sooooo committed to this project,why did she spend most of the year touring as a solo artist on those 90s freestyle/R&B package tours?

This sounds like Chrissie Hynde and how she continues the Pretenders, but with her as the only original member. Except it probably only works in Hynde's case.
