New Edition - Home Again 20th Anniversary Thread 20 years ago on September 10th, New Edition released their first album of new material in 8 years entitled, "Home Again". The album would reunite all 6 members of NE (Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill and Bell Biv DeVoe) working with producers such as Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, P. Diddy, Jermaine Dupri, Gerald LeVert, etc. and we all know what happened during this era. Sure it wasn't their biggest era, but this album is still a very good album. Come post your memories about this album.

It was a great album along with NE Heartbreak (1988). I wish they recorded some of their concerts during that time period. I have only seen snippets on YT. Keep Calm & Listen To Prince

The snippets you've seen were from a concert that I actually attended in 1997. I didn't record the concert, but I was there and Ricky wasn't there.

. I'd say 'Home Again' is more than just a very good album, it's freaking tight! I only found out about this album a couple of years ago, the lead single 'Hit Me Off' was a minor hit here in Holland, but it never gets any airplay anymore, which is a shame. . It has a great mix of up-tempo songs and some ballads. I don't think it gets boring anywhere. Some R&B albums from around the same time are guilty of having a couple of filler tracks on it, but nothing feels like filler on 'Home again' IMO. The boys all bring their A-game, and it's fun to hear Bobby Brown and Johnny Gill alongside each other. . [Edited 9/10/16 7:56am] I don't want your rhythm without your rhyme

Too bad the tour they did to support the album turned out the way it did.

"Hit Me Off" is TIGHT! The rest...meh. I'm from Boston and aside of "Mr. Telephone Man," I've never found N.E. to be very talented at ALL. Vocally, they're HORRIBLE. Sadly, the addition of Johnny Gill, the only NON-Boston brutha in the lineup only made them all sound even LESS talented where Gill could and probably STILL CAN sing CIRCLES around them. They have odd timbres and still sound like little boy WANNAbe's sadly. Gill, on the other hand, ALWAYS sounded like a BIG man. N.E. is just not a big deal 2 me. There have been WAY MORE TALENTED boy bands than them. NOT a fan. Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.
