Any Carly Rae Jepsen fans here?

Yes, that "Call Me Maybe" girl. But she's so much more than that.

CRJ released E-MO-TION, an 80's wet dream and the best pop album of 2015, and has just dropped E-MO-TION: Side B, with 8 new tracks from those sessions. All are just as strong as anything on E-MO-TION.

My favourite is "Cry":

I actually liked "Call Me Maybe" when it came out and still don't mind hearing it whenever now.

Heard sound bites of her last album but never gave it a thorough listen.

I think the quality of her album is due in large part to her deciding to work with different producers (one of which is Rostam from Vampire Weekend) and writers. She has over 20 producers listed on her album and an average of five co-writers on each song, nonetheless is a decent album. All the best to her.

i don't really care how many producers or musicians had to make a piece of music if i enjoy it. i'm listening to 'Sketches of Spain' by Miles Davis right now and each song has upwards of twenty musicians, and it's beautiful.

i thought the Carly Rae Jepsen album was really good pop music. reminded me of early Madonna. I'll check the new one

That's fine, the main point that I want to get across is that I think it was her decision to work with different people that brought a different sound to her.
