Quincy Jones featuring Val Simpson/Chaka Khan - "Stuff Like That"

Hot beat with interesting lyrics..

The New Radicals - Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too
"You Get What You Give" doesn't age,
but the real gem is "I Hope I Didn't Just Give Away The Ending".
Add "Mother We Just Can't Get Enough" and "Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too",
and you have one heck of a pop EP.

Prefab Sprout - Steve McQueen
Like "Hissing Of The Summer Lawns" or "Parade", this one doesn't age either.
While all the album is worth of interest, side A is like the one of "Hounds Of Love",
hit after hit (in the musical sense). If you don't know "Appetite", trust me, you'll learn it.

Fleetwood Mac - Tusk
"Rumours" is a nice little record compared to this shit.
"Walk A Thin Line" is pure white paranoia.
"Not That Funny" is a fucking slap in the face.
"Beautiful Child" is the Galactica Mothership of all break-up songs.
Here's where Stevie Nicks makes Prince fall in love with her, with her voice
and with this song. Did it influence the "impossible love" lyrical theme of Purple Rain? Possibly maybe.

The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter
No Child's a failure
Until the Blue Sailboat sails him away from his dreams
Don't Ever Lose, Don't Ever Lose
Don't Ever Lose Your Dreams

The Monkees ~ Birth Of An Accidental Hipster

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

This came up as a suggestion on YouTube and its quite pleasureable, background at work type music. They have free downloads on the YT page, apparently it is a project using a multitude of samples.

Hayley Reinhart's "Better". Just really started to get to know her, saw her play live a few months ago here in NYC with her band and this girl has got it, presence and live vocals off the charts. And her style is everything, but the rasp in her voice at times is KILLER! She is also part of "Post Modern Jukebox" and did some kick ass covers of songs that RADIO plays to death or you even hate but in their style you see them in a new light. She was American Idol finalist Top 3 I think, should have won as I checked who she lost too, and Im like Wow people are pretty dumb. Plus they have said JLO and Randy who were judging along with STEVEN TYLER in 2011, didnt like her but Steven thought she rocked the house (probably wanted a piece of her too lol) but when JLO critques your vocals and style how much WEIGHT can you put in that?

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F
