Coming off of the success of RFTW, I always thought Melvin would have blew up more than he did as a solo artist.

Can he do it like this was the jam.
I thought who's is it was corny. I like the track
but the lyrics were whack. I didn't think Melvin had a chance as
a solo artist. RFTW time was up by the time they released Straight
Down To Business and only Can He Do It Like This barely caught radio
attention. The title track flopped. Music had changed by the time Melvin
went solo and he tried to change with it a little but RFTW audience had already moved on.
Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

RFTW would be the perfect band for an Unsung episode.

I've been saying that since the show first aired. Perfect candidates.

Yeah, I can admit to not feeling the new jack swing attempt of the track, "Straight Down To Business". R&B became even more Hip Hop influenced than NJS was throughout the rest of the 90's and beyond.... lol Hell, now you have dudes like Drake, Bryson Tiller, even Chris Brown merging the two genres frequently.

And that ultimately did them in. However, I do believe RFTW hit the road as one of those "Old School" package tours now.
