3 very solid classic level LPs and tunes from Roy Ayers now available at digital stores (Google, Amazon, Itunes)

The LPs (and individual tunes on them) incude "In the Dark" (1984),

"You Might Be Surprised" (1985)" and "I'm The One (For Your Love Tonight)" (1987).

While all three deserve consideration for excellent R&B/electronic funk/electro

quality, "You Might Be Surprised" and "in the Dark" at the least deserve to be considered

classic/virtuoso level compositions aind performances on the pinnacle level with Herbie Hancock's

"Future Shock" LP and its main iconic song "Rock It" and similar LPs such as Prince's "1999" LP, Mtume's "You, Me and He", etc. The tune "Hot" was the most successful single from

the first two LPs and attained the #20 position on the R&B chart and #12 position on the Dance Music chart. The first two LPs have excellent mix of mainly contemporary (to that period) R&B/electronic funk/electro dance music, mellow jazz fusion/R&B, and ballads. Other tunes that had R&B chart

success are "In the Dark", "Slip N Slide", "Poo Poo La La", and "Programmed for Love".

The first two LPs also feature top quality assists from R&B/jazz superstuds Grover Washington Jr.,

James Mtume, Stanley Clarke, Tom Brown, Branford Marsalis, Miki Howard and several

additional studs and studettes.

The "I'm the One (For Your Love Tonight)" is also quite good and has a very good socially conscious message tune in a New Jack Swing style that tries to discourage use of Crack Cocaine, "Crack Attack". On that LP "Word" is also a solid quality New Jack Swing type of tune.

Around 2008 I had seen prices

for the used CD version of the first two LPs in the zone of $100 per CD on Amazon, Ebay, etc.

Based on my frequent checks of Itunes it seems that these LPs and tunes were released in MP3 format

in the last week of June of 2016.

You Might Be Surprised is really amazing record! Everyone would know Hot from Michael Jackson's The Way You Make Me Feel video.

Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.
