Thank God he's protective over his children. Unlike Cher who used to make fun of her 8 year old daughter for playing with boy's toys on national TV every week, then said it was a good life experience for her when she found out one of her friends had molested the girl while she was too busy with her own career.
The there's the son, whom she took out of school, and ended up in a video with her prancing about showing her ass to men half her age. Ladies and gentlemen, mother of the century - CHER

Oh well, has anyone else realised that some people are such has-beens that no matter how much promotion they do, how much plastic surgery they have and how many weird stolen wig stories they put out... they still get more press when they make a negative comment on Michael Jackson!?
Talk about desperate! And I don't think old Whacksie cares if Cher buys another of his albums. She goes on every talk show imaginable, even does the Royal Variety performance on prime time TV in the UK, and her album misses the chart completely. If the music was anything other than the safe, commercial cheap eurotrash dance tripe, she might have an excuse.

Michaels situation is just incomparable. Why are people still surprised that he acts different?
Being worked like an adult from 5 or 6 years old is gonna mess u up for a start. Then add on top having a number one record by the age of 11 and remaining in the limelight all the way to become THE most famous person in the world by your twentys and continuing that type of celebrity to the extent of being mobbed everytime you go outside for the rest of your life. Chers life certainly can't compare for her to be able to comprehend his. Neither can anyone eles that I can think of off the top of my head. The other REAL superstars such as the Beatles all rose to that status well after their childhood learning years. I read a short interview by one of Michael's friends who says "Michael has read every book on parenting there is" and also stated he'd never seen Michaels kids with masks on or covering their faces with anything. It seems it's just while they're in public. It's also a bit hypocritical for people to be saying "take the masks off, let them live normally" when obviously if they did take them off to reveal their facial identity then their lives are NEVER going to have any shot at normality. Their father is Michael Jackson for godsakes. Leave him! PEACE! Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

Michael commands an audience because he still performs with such electricity, as seen last year on the J5 reunion special and because he's an intreguing character, not because he talks scandal.
Aaronstic did u watch the J5 show? The first song they did was Can u feel it. If you've heard the song before u know the 1st verse starts out with one of the bros singing, and then Michael comes in on the bridge before the chorus. This was the first time I had seen Michael performing live (on tv) and singing live in years and I wondered if he still had the energy. Well I felt pretty silly having any doubt at all because when he grabbed the mike and strutted up to the front of the stage he really gave you the feeling. And that moment right there is more live than any Prince moment I've yet witnessed (on tape). There's no way u can say 'has been' after witnessing that. There's nothing in music in the last few years that can touch it shine for shine. Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

You'll know that MJ is "over" the second no-one gives a shit about him and no-one feels the need to unnecessarily state their opinion on every aspect of the peephole they've had into his lifestyle without thinking about their own lives first.
The day Michael Jackson does an interview and gets asked about how Marlon is doing and what he thinks of Cher, THEN you can call him a has-been.

The day Michael Jackson does an interview and gets asked about how Marlon is doing and what he thinks of Cher, THEN you can call him a has-been. but on the other hand you must admit that he is more famous right now for his antics rather than his music... the majority of people talking about him are not talking favorably.. just being talked about isn't necessarily the best thing for a career...i've seen interviews with members of the jackson family and they usually are asked about michael's behavior more than his music... he'll always be michael jackson, so in that respect he'll always be famous, but it just seems lately he's more famous for his eccentricities than his art..and that is unfortunate..

I didn't say "over" As a musical act, he seems pretty irrelevent in 2003, though. He will go on to be the next Brando, or Howard Hughes. The type of celebrity that doesn't actually do anything anymore, but is famous just for being famous. The day Michael Jackson does an interview and gets asked about how Marlon is doing and what he thinks of Cher, THEN you can call him a has-been.
speaking of Brando.. but anyway, how would this equate to being over?

The man still has 4 albums in the UK Top 100 (his multiple album chart run has now been more successful than any previous sales surges due to touring). His illegal internet song made the chart in Australia. Just 2 weeks ago he was #15 in the album chart over here! If he'd had a new release it would have been massive.

Michael Jackson is a very talented artist and he's has had tremendous success in the past. But,I'm a little worried for him these days.As Rio pointed out,it seems that he gets attention for his bizrre antics more than anything else. It's time for him to GROW UP and get real! Hiding away at Neverland, acting like a child, that's just not the way to go.He needs a serious reality check. And yes,I know about his own childhood and how hard it was for him. But,at some point, you have to confront your demons, deal with it,and move on.For once,I would like to see MJ act normal.

FYI, the original double release of HIStory was one of them. The GH and special editions have been doing well because music from them was played throughout the UK broadcast of the Bashir documentary.

You know half of his public persona is just an act anyway. Various accounts of people who have spent time with him have painted an entirely different picture. I think he needs the fence put up between his public image and how he really is. It probably keeps him sane. Wacko Jacko is just a media created character. Michael Jackson is far more complex, and he deserves the right to keep himself to himself.. DavidEye said: Cher is no longer a Michael Jackson fan."I don't really care what he does to his face.He could just erase it as far as I'm concerned" Cher is quoted as saying in TV Guide's April 5 issue."But I don't like him anymore. And it's because of his children.I cannot imagine putting my children what he put his children through".
Though she once considered Jackson a "great artist",she said she has been turned off.She said she was also dissapointed by his behavior last year at "American Bandstand's" 50th Anniversary show,in which she also appeared."He had this child wrapped up in a blanket, and I was thinking "What kind of life is this?",Cher,56,said. "As an artist,I can't fault his art, because he was brilliant",Cher said."I wouldn't buy anything now". I have to say,Cher has a point. The problem with Michael is,he's simply become too weird and it's turning off alot of people, including some of his friends.I will always be a fan of his old music, but his recent behavior is turning ME off too.I've been reading the new Madonna interviews and as always,I am amazed at how intelligent and "down to earth" she is.She's not a prisoner of her success and fame. She is still living in the real world.Sadly,I can't say the same about Michael. (putting on my bulletproof vest before the MJ police come after me...lol...) Come on, now! Let's not beso hostile! Let's sing songs and eat marshmallows... ![]()
