Caught Up in the Rapture - Anita Baker

Is there anything more lovelier than this?

For any of you music theory nerds like me:

Chords

I'm at work and can't check to see if it is accurate but this website is usually spot on. Case in point:
the chords for Jeff Buckley's "Lover, You Should've Come Over," which is intricately written, is very
accurate.

(1) What the fuck?! I never knew there was a live version!

(2) You may be right about that.

(3) Agreed; for me, there is not one single misstep on Rapture.

Anita Baker's Rapture is an R&B classic album. I'd heard that when Ms. Baker was trying to break into the music business she was told that she couldn't really sing. Ha, ha. Different strokes for different folks, I guess!

I don't think she's under-rated at all. She racked up a lot of Grammy awards in a relatively short period of time. And she's one of a very select few female singers who still receive heavy airplay at R&B radio. She is still very much adored and revered by black music consumers.

I heard that too...I was listening to one of her early-early 80's songs on the radio and I never heard it before (or at least I can't recall hearing it in the past)...Her voice did not sound, well, Good...I wanna KILL myself for saying that about Anita of ALL singers, but her voice sound aggravating on that track...LOL...I will FOREVER Love me some Anita...The Woman has a unique voice and she sings her heart out all the Damn time..There is NOBODY like Anita...That particular oldie I heard was a Hot mess...

Has to be my joint favorite Anita song along with Sweet Love. Didn't Mary J sing Rapture to get her record deal with MCA too?
