Anita Baker's Rapture is an R&B classic album. I'd heard that when Ms. Baker was trying to break into the music business she was told that she couldn't really sing. Ha, ha. Different strokes for different folks, I guess!

I don't think she's under-rated at all. She racked up a lot of Grammy awards in a relatively short period of time. And she's one of a very select few female singers who still receive heavy airplay at R&B radio. She is still very much adored and revered by black music consumers. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! but where is that album that is been on hold since before her remake of Tyrese's Lately? [Edited 7/4/16 20:47pm] Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

Has to be my joint favorite Anita song along with Sweet Love. Didn't Mary J sing Rapture to get her record deal with MCA too?
