I'm sure most people on this site don't have a clue who Gord is, but thank you for posting this. I heard the news yesterday and was very saddened by it. They are such an amazing band. A real Canadian band if there is such a thing. There music has touched millions and I hope it will touch many more in the future.
All we can hope for is that he doesn't suffer too much.

So sad. I'm not a big fan but I am Canadian, so of course have friends who have followed them on tour all the time.
2016 is such a shitty year so far. |

Having only been in Canada for 10 years, my appreciation for the Tragically Hip isn't as steeped as many of my local friends. I've come to know the band's output as really solid, though, and Gord is a great talent. I wish him the best as he navigates the close of a wonderfully productive life.
