Michael Zager Band ~ Let's All Chant {12" Version}

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I used to play this on my parent turntable all the time in kindergarten upon discovering "the pretty purple vinyl cover" and loved that intro. I never heard of beat boxing and was imitating the beat with my mouth when telling them about the new song I heard lmaooo

I hadn't heard this song since it was out. I was watching some of those What's In My Bag? videos by Amoeba record store and it was mentioned and they always play a short clip of whatever it is the performer buys. I never knew the name of the song or the act, but I used to hear it a lot on the radio, and when the snippet played I recognized the song right away. biggrin

It was actually within a decade after it originally came out when I discovered it since I wasn't born yet
