The 2016 BET Awards show lived up to its usual A+ level on a Ivy League school report card standards. it had best in class awards presentation, musical performances, host and hostess

performances, egalitarian poliical messages and awareness, visuals,

comedy, dance performances, variety (plenty of nonPrince stuff), and, most importantly,

addictively ultrasexy women. While all of the Prince tribute performances were excellent,

it was most admirable that the oldest perfomers effectively hit the peak level.

Stevie Wonder's better edition of Take Me With You was a like a remix done back in 1984

that was too-funky-for-pop-radio. Sheila E., at an all star MILFY (pretty please?) lookin's 59 years old, danced and played almost as sleekly and skillfully as Prince when he was 26.

Usher did his usual smart dancin' and excellent vocal performance.

The Hamilton-themed bit was about as funny, clever and relatable as anyone could make it.

Anthomy Anderson hit home run with his parody of Janelle Monae's use of Prince-style bare ass check pants

for her Purple Rain era suit.

If you missed it you should know that It is definitely worth a watch when the re-broadcasts proceeds,

probably over the subsequent weeks in June and July.

I was just going to ask about that? Guess they got pushed aside again? I didn't watch the show but you can't tell me they couldn't take 8 minutes out of that show to pay tribute to two people who were such legendary trailblazers in black music.

Lol what memoriam segment. Prince and Ali were the only deaths mentioned.

Thanks, what a shame I would have thought would have celebrated Vanity, Maurice, Natalie was well.

yes the BET awards last night. I forget who was speaking but he was saying it has been a hard year with artist that have passed this year, photos were flashing in the background and I clearly saw Vanitys photo. I remember telling my daughter "Aww Vanity"
