Lenny opening for Guns N' Roses

It's not very often Lenny opens for anyone anymore, but this should be interesting.

Will be cool to see him get back to the hard rock stuff, no doubt playing side by side with his longtime pals Axl, Duff and Slash for a song or two.

Maybe Duff & Lenny will do a song to honor Prince, I"m hoping.

For Kravitz, the shows are also a personal reunion of sorts. "I went to high school with Slash," he says. "I've known Axl, Slash and Duff from the beginning. We all came up together, and we worked together. I wrote 'Always on the Run' with Slash and he played on 'Fields of Joy,' both on my Mama Said album."

The last time Kravitz joined Guns N' Roses onstage, the singer was one of a handful of special guests who came out during the band's Paris concert in June 1992. The rock band accompanied Kravitz on a round of "Always on the Run." "I remember that time very well because we were all staying at the Hôtel de Crillon, and we were all in Paris for a few days together," Kravitz says. "It was a lot of fun."

"Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself."

What's that supposed to mean?

Anway about the Lenny Kravitz thing, I'm not saying this information is false but to me it seems questionable. GNR is doing the reunion thing from what I know, Alice In Chains is on the bill as GNR's opener for their tour. And they also were already opening for them for shows that already happened this year. I hope it's not Lenny anyway. He's a cool guy so nothing against him, but I'm just not a fan of his music. And if he really was opening for GNR then I'm a lot more likely to not attempt to go see the show. The closest city they are doing shows in this year is Chicago. Me and my cousin are both really huge fans of both GNR and Alice In Chains so we reeeeally want to try to go see one of the Chicago shows. If it was just one of the two bands I would most likely skip the show since it's out of state. But it being both? One of my favorite bands opening for one of my other favorites, that's worth an out of state trip for me. Even though I've already seen Alice In Chains a couple times, seeing them in the same night as GNR would be amazing. But if it's Lenny then that kinda kills it for me. LikeI said, nothing against him, I'm just not a fan. So instead of having 2 bands I like is a yes while having 1 band I like and someone else I just don't care for musically isn't enough to make me attempt to make that trip. I wouldn't want to sit through Lenny's set.

You'll be happy to know it's official, Alice in Chains will be opening both of the Chicago Guns N' Roses shows. Here's the link to the official announcement: http://www.gunsnroses.com/tour

I saw both bands in Vegas, definitely a great show. But Lenny is one of my favorites, and I haven't seen him in more than 4 years, so I'm hoping he opens for the next GNR show that I'll be attending. Not all of the GNR concerts have openers announced yet, my show is one of the unannounced ones.

I'm guessing you're a Steven and/or Izzy fan, and therefore believe it's not a true reunion?

Can't be because of Axl's singing, his voice is back and he's killed it at every GNR & AC/DC show this year.

Oh so it's not gonna be one consistant opener for the whole tour? After seeing a number of AIC supporting act shows, I guess I just assumed that's what the whole tour was. I'm glad the Chicago dates are AIC. Normally I wouldn't travel out of state for a concert unless it was a really big deal, and even then, I don't think I'd travel further than Chicago or Minneapolis (since I live in WI). So being in that range and since it's a big deal (to me anyway), it's worth the trip so I hope we can see them. If it was just AIC I would just wait for them to go to Milwaukee since they usually come trough the state when they tour and I did go see them the last couple times. Post-reunion GNR, I wouldn't go to Chicago for. I MIGHT go if it was in state. But a reunion line-up with AIC opening is just too much to miss. Definitely jealous you got to the Las Vegas show(s). Who had a better set?

Hahaha I WISH I could have seen them with Layne. But I'm 25. Last time they performed with him was like back in the late 90s, so I can't say I had the pleasure to see them back then since I just a kid yet. I saw them in 2013 and 2015 so it was definitely William Duvall era. Which I want to point out he was a great choice for the new frontman position. Obviously nobody could replace Layne, but William Duvall was a great choice. He definitely does the band justice.

Yeah it will be different openers throughout the tour. I attended just the first Vegas show, they were both great sets. Hard to compare as seeing half of the old GNR lineup together again for the first official concert after 23 years was a bit mindblowing. lol
