Please Tell Me You Guys Love Tina Turner! Somehow, I get this feeling that you guys aren't really too fond of her,,,I think maybe nobody mention her mo' often,,,oh well!
Oh I love me some Anna Mae Bullock ya'll I must admit that her shit was betta when she was with Ike just like when Angela Winbush was betta when she was with Rene but that doesn't mean that I don't love her solo stuff. Matta o' fact I respect her 4 doing that risk(flipping her style into Acid Rock music after spending 2 decades doing RnB stuff) not 2 mention the CROWD. I'd have 2 say my fave LP from her is the "Whats Love Got To Do With It" soundtrack simply becoz it features her best tunes with Mr.Ike Turner and her solo tunes like the amazing "I Could've Been Queen" I'm not sure about the title tho. I'm sooo feelin' the blusy #s "(Darlin')Don't You Know I Love You" & "Rock Me Baby" not 2 mention the ever-so-funky "Tina's Wish" & "Nutbush City" hell just put the whole tracklist along,,I don't care the whole LP is off the hook. Any Anna Mae Bullock fans??? [This message was edited Sun Mar 30 10:02:47 PST 2003 by Harlepolis]

I don't love her and I don't dislike her. But "River Deep, Mountain High" is her apex to me. Too bad it was never a big hit in her own country. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I like a few Tina Turner songs here and there...
"Private Dancer"(1984) "We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)" (1985) "Typical Male"(1986) "Two People"(1986) "I Don't Wanna Fight"(1993) But,I don't like any of the stuff she did with Ike,and much of her recent recordings sound so formulaic and bland. But there is no denying her obvious talent and the impact she has made on rock n'roll culture.

Oh,I had forgotten all about that song! The entire second verse is classic... "I think it's oh so right,we don't need to fight we'll just stand face to face You present your case, yes I know, you keep tellin' me that you love me And I really do wanna believe But,did you think I'd just accept you in blind faith? Oh sure, baby, anything to please you But you better be good to me"

Ya know? I thought about that alot actualy and it did bother me but there's no wonder why she's all up in the British media,,,Its simple, she ain't getting NO DUES whats so ever from here. Her husband(or should I say X-husband) get mo' dues and respect from here than her,,,hell If I were her I'd def do the same thang. Plus, Black critcs treated her just like they're treating Lenny & Macy(WACK!) just like Josphine Baket who got repsect from the world(esp FRANCE) and she didn't get NOTHING from her country till she died,,,same thang will happen 2 Tina,,,sad but true indeed! Oh, HELL YEAH!!! I adore TINA!!! Man, I wanted to wax that ass when I was an 8-year old horndog and saw her belting out "Private Dancer."
Plus, Tina has been such an inspiration to me. Lately I've been thinking about her relationship with Ike, and it hit me: "If she can get over that toxic relationship, I can certainly get over all of the crap I've been through in my life." So you go, Tina. Love you lots!!!

I think miss Turner is one hugely overrated lady.
She has incredible charisma, she's sexy, she's loud, them legs...that energy etc... . I get why people like her. But musically she's downright awful. Ever since 'Private Dancer' her music has gotten more & more MOR with each release. Her last album 24/7 is one of the worst albums in recent years. And her last tour wasn't inspired either. Way overrated. ...Your coochie gonna swell up and fall apart...

Hell, the only thang I see from TV about her is "Behind The Music" from VH-1 other than this,,,nata!

I don't think Tina sucks, her solo music does. In my opinion of course. She's always gotten lots of airplay in Europe. Even the dreadfull: "When the heartache is over."
That Anastacia woman is now filling the void, with the same type o' crap ...Your coochie gonna swell up and fall apart...

I give Tina much props, because:
1. she can sing her ass off, with the best of them. I can't think of any other singer before or since who can combine the "rawness" of rock but still be very soulful.. in most of her songs, it's easy to feel her emotion.. you know it's coming from her, & it's REAL. 2. to hell with that CBS "reality show".. Tina is a SURVIVOR, for real. 2 words to prove that: Ike Turner. Not only did she survive him, but she survived an often fickle public, she was able to "update" her style but still be true to her essense.. not too many performers can do that once, much less consistently. On a somewhat unrelated note, I've been told that I do an EXACT version of "Private Dancer".. not surprisingly, 1 of my favorite Tina songs.. I'll see you tonight..

I loves me some Anna Mae Bullock because she is Tina Turner! I saw several years ago perform at the Versailles Palace grounds in France and it was the best concert I had ever seen (that is, until Prince came around Paris with his Lovesexy tour). I've seen Tina in concert four times since then over a 10 year period. She may not command radio attention here in the States, but like the Rolling Stones, she puts so much energy into her old and new tunes, that you have to give her huge props and accolades just for continuing to follow her musical muse. Financially, I hear that she's rock solid and unlike many, many artists from her generation, she doesn't have to worry about really working again. You go girl!
