Your *Ultimate FUNK* Compilation CD?

i wanna put 2gether a CD of sheer,str8 up,wildest ever FUNK!
but since my knowledge of funk doesnt go very deep past Prince & Sly Stone/Larry...
i need suggestions.

anyone here made their own?
or suggestions 4 THE FUNK Disc?

i'm with pp4, if you're unfamiliar with james brown's back catalog, go buy the "star time" box set. james brown pretty much invented funk. he was the miles davis for funk musicians, in that maceo, bootsy and a host of others trained in his great bands. any quality complilation of funk will start with jb.

nope, the ultimix version is a different remix--ain't the standard 12" mix. i have it somewhere... let me see if i can fish it up and post a timing on it for ya. smile
