Okay so I know many of you are probably looking at this name like...'who's that'

He's a Korean artist in a kpop band called SHINee (pronounced shiny), and despite the bad rep that kpop boybands have of being manufatured etc, he's an amazing vocalist. He released his first solo EP last year and said on his radio show;

"Prince. I really like him. He's so cool. As I prepared my album, I didn't purposely do it such that I pay homage to him or that I put forth a Prince-like feel, but I thought that it was clearly fused in. I'm so thankful you are reminded of Prince as you listened to my album."

And when Prince died; "Prince yeah he left us a few days ago. I was in Japan when I learnt about the news and I was really shocked. I listened to many of Prince's songs and he's also someone who inspired me alot. I hope he's in a better place now"

Just wanted to share how Prince was so influential, he greatly impacted someone who doesn't even speak the english language.

SHINee is popular but also one of the more bubblegum ones IMO

Not bad. I don't mind SHINee, as Pop bands go they have some interesting material. I really like the Boys Meet U album ("Breaking News", "Dazzling Girl", etc) album. I made my girlfriend order it for me because I was embarassed by the title and didn't want anyone to trace it to me.

yeah Boys Meet U was a good album...their other Japanese albums aren't as good as a whole...but the title songs are better...in my opinion at least
