I sure hope a gifted musician comes our way in the future. If Prince's death can remind all these wankers that talent is of no use without hard work and perseverance, maybe some of them will get down to it, and look past GarageBand.

That said, if the listener himself has no problem digesting GarageBand patterns and the usual "The Voice" trained monkey, as this is more and more the case, we're looking at a very thin slice of the population who actually cares for music as an art.

And let's not forget the essential: the talent scouts and the record company executives are now wankers too. We have now a full chain, from production to distribution, of inept yo-yos that would rather make another dollar, than a concept album (a concept what?) or anything that goes out of the comfort zone.

There are no torches to pass. There is, was, and always will be only one Prince. Everything that has been innovative in the world of music has already been done so we are left with a bunch of carbon copies...some better than others but none even close to the originals. Honestly, I'd rather Bruno over Miguel or The Weeknd if people insist on trying to find a Prince substitute . Personally, I think Ed Sheeran is better than Bruno Mars. Just my

Well, it may well be:


1. He hasn't signed it.

2. It would normally have 'B' not 'be'.

3. He writes 'Urself', not 'yourself'.

If Bruno would take the torch, that would mean fulfilling what Prince told him--to be himself, find his own musical footing to fulfill his undoubted talent, and make his own sound and legacy of music built upon the influences who came before...as Prince did. That would be taking the torch.
