Curtwill1975 said: I am more annoyed that some of you think that Beyoncé should cancel something that she obviously planned to release on the date that she did while using Prince's(RIP) death as another excuse to bash her as many of you usually do on this site.
I loved Prince as performer and an entertainer, I never cared about what his personality was or how he conducted his private life. And I am the same with all of my favorite entertainers. That includes Beyoncé.
As far as Prince liking Beyoncé, he always gave her daps as a vocal performer. Like in this interview:
Y-Life: Aren't y'all industries like that, to a certain extent?
Prince: At least in the movies, a successful actor can get $20 million. It's not like that in the music business. Destiny's Child brought in $93 million. How much do you think themselves actually got? It's Totally unequal.
Record executives will say, "Destiny's Child made $93 million last year." You ask them,"Why did Destiny's Child themselves only get $4 millions of that money?" I mean, have you heard Beyoncé sing? Puh-pleeze! She's ain't even 20 and she's got a voice like that! Let's kick it up to $30 million. Is that fair? They won't answer. They'll say, "You don't understand...."
And that's the context for all of the compliments that he has ever given to her from that interview and later on in life until he unfortunately passed away; her knowlegable of vocal arrangements and the execution of them. It's a shame that even some of you don't like her, you're not even willing to acknowledge that the artist that some of supposedly stanned for, might actually thought she was great in her lane and what she does. Don't mean you have to like her, but don't put words in his mouth or assign motives to his respect of what Bey's talent is. [Edited 4/29/16 10:55am] I agree with this post. I don't think anyone here is actually hating on Beyoncé, I think it's more a case of grieving Prince fans that are understandably upset at the way that the death of Prince has been forgotten as yesterday's news by those that have rushed to and fawned over the new Beyoncé album. If you're a Beyoncé fan, that's great, but I think that is where a lot of people are coming from here.
Personally, the only thing that to me smacked of disrespect was the way the Prince tributes on Tidal were replaced almost as quickly as they were put up by an overwhelming amount of Beoncé promo. The general vibe the whole situation gives off is kind of "Prince is dead? Who cares? Where the next bit of news we can jump on?" At least to grieving fans, anyway.
To put it simply, Beyoncé has a new album out, and that's great, but there are more important things going on in the world than figuring out who Becky is.
(For the record, I do like Beyoncé and loved the last few albums, but I'm just not bothered about this one at the moment.) [Edited 5/1/16 6:36am] If you ever lose someone dear 2 U, never say the words "they're gone". They'll come back.

I'm actually not mad that she released her album as planned. I was a crying mess last week because of Prince and could barely keep it together. I was HAPPY when she released her album and mini movie because it was a welcome distraction from the sadness and tears. Why should anyone be who isn't a fan? I'm not a fan but even I don't see the point in constantly being a sourpuss because she is a media darling. She can release an album whenever she and her record label chooses to. We aren't forced to listen, buy, or watch the videos. I've yet to watch or listen to any of the songs because there is no interest too. If I happen to hear it I can critique it objectively but based on history I don't expect anything special. As far as the timing of Prince death is concerned I'm quite sure she feels the same pain everyone else does but is she and her record label supposed to postpone promotion for the album. Are other artists supposed to postpone their tour dates and forthcoming album releases too? Some folks just need to take They are giving Beyoncé way too much power. Don't laugh at my funk

......... Are you joking? You must be trying to make a joke. It's hate, and far, FAR beyond hate. It's vitriolic anger and disgust, and it's not normal.

I think people are just tired of seeing Beyonce dominate everything. She's a shameless,overexposed,spotlight-stealing diva.Everything always has to be "about HER" and her only.

Nope, no hate based on completely illogical and unfounded opinion up in this thread. None at all.

Also, that Grammy organizer stated that Beyonce didn't want to do the performance either. They had to talk them both into doing it. It worked out well for both of them in the end. Personally, I haven't liked Beyonce since her debut album. She could have released Lemonade, Kool-Aid, Gatorade, whatever at any point and I'd still think it was mindless drivel based on the two songs I've heard from it thus far. She needs to stop charging her fans to be her therapists and divorce Joe Camel. If he's really cheated on her as many times as her music implies, than that makes her a dumbass for staying with him and I'm not going to give her money and praise for being a damn doormat. Agree with this entire post. If you are not praising Beyonce or calling her the greatest thing in the world, her stans think any criticism means your hating. The bolded is a legitimate reason to feel upset as a Prince fan imo and it was disrespectful.

I mean...all of the attention would be justified if her music was actually.....good

^ THIS too. She is overrated and overexposed and people are tired of it. Prince is a legend and deserved his time to be remembered and I dont think there is anything wrong with people/prince fans expressing their disappintment of it being some what overshadowed.
Agree with post.Oh you are so right, he did say that! But this is why I never understood why people said Prince was such a big fan of her when I honestly never really felt or saw that. Usually artists who are big fans talk about them excessively? I could be wrong but I never saw the hard core admiration as some here make it seem. The whole marketing of the album is just for PR.

Hate is a very strong word to use. Hatred is when you dislike someone so much you would wish harm upon them. I never mentioned wishing any harm upon Beyonce and if I can recall correctly, no one else has either, at least not in this thread. But of course, any bad thing said about Beyonce "the deity" will be taken to extremes and will automatically make people like me seem like we're jealous and hating.
And no, not everyone here is a Prince stan, there's different levels of fanaticism. With Beyonce fans there seems to be this cult-like following. Not assuming they're all like that, but the majority of them are.
