kd lang I think I'm about to get into her hardcore. I've always loved her voice and felt like I should start buying her stuff, but never have. Right now I can't stop playing "Anywhere But Here". That woman has POWER!
Anyone else like her? Please feel free to make any recommendations since I'm a newbie.

one of the wildest concerts i have ever attended was k.d. lang september 1, 1992. it was the ingenue tour and she had just officially come out as being gay (big surprise).
there was an article in vanity fair magazine that labelled this tour as "lesbian beatlemania" and that was the best desciption i could have possibly come up with. there was absolute pandemonium. i was sitting down close, and i have never seen people (absolutely wasted lesbians) going so nuts, screaming crying, throwing underware. i actually saw probably 3 girls faint. the concert was great, she has a powerful, beautiful voice. she played the audience in a very coy playful way that maintained that tension and excitement in a way that i've seen only a few artists be able to do. i have sort of lost touch with her stuff since drag. ------------------------------------------------

I like her...I only own "Invinsible Summer" and it's quite good...I saw her live at this small lesbian supper club in Palm Springs about a year ago...She was fantastic...she went on stage in ripped jeans and a tank top and barefoot...while the rest of her band were dressed to the 9s...it was interesting...she's also very funny on stage...and she had three female back up singers; a hispanic girl, a blond girl and a black girl and her comment was something to the effect that she liked them in every flavor... I've always loved kd. I saw her last fall opening for Tony Bennett. Lang's portion was wonderful. After her assured, soaring set, Bennett seemed pedestrian.

Anyone else like her? Please feel free to make any recommendations since I'm a newbie. I've only owned 2 albums by Lang, the first one was Ingenue, the other is All You Can Eat. Although I consider "Contant Craving" one of the GREAT pop songs of all time, I didn't much care for Ingenue. I like the All You Can Eat album better. This woman has a fabulous voice, and she's not afraid to try different musical styles. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

FINALLY K.D GETS SOME LOVE!!!
I have had to buy 3 copies of Ingenue from carrying it around everywhere I go. One of my favorite cds of all time. The soundtrack to "cowgirls" is awesome too. Her voice is timeless and classic. I gotta admit being put off by the whole butch lesbian thing but after hearing more of her I dont care if she sleeps with the fishes as long as she keeps puttin out music
