Beck, what are your favourite albums?

So i just started getting into this guy, really like "Guero" and "Sea Change", and they're both very different from each other. What are your favourite album's from him?

We're here, might as well get into it.

Probably "Sea Change", but you'd have to be in the mood. Otherwise it can really be too much.

Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?

Agreed. And Sea Change is really just a rip off of OK Computer and The Man Who as I think
Nigel Godrich is responsible for the aesthetics of all three.

Mellow Gold, Sea Change, or The Information. But Beck doesn't have a bad album.

Odelay (1996), Guero (2005)

I definitely have checked out the others. It's about time for another hip hop album with Dust Brothers.

Odelay

I got a love-hate thing with his music. I really like Odelay's psychedelic sound but his other stuff just doesn't appeal to me sad The song 'Loser' is like nails on chalkboard, I don't know how anyone can bring themselves to enjoy such a deppressing song

Midnite Vultures was the first Beck cd I bought and I had a lukewarm reaction to it. At that time I was really into buying maxi-singles & even though I didn't love love love Midnite Vultures I bought all the maxi-singles that were released. A few years later I took Midnite Vultures and added all the b-sides which made a much bigger cd. And then I came to love Midnite Vultures. So look for all the b-sides if you want the whole Beck/Midnite Vultures Experience.

I've read a lot of dopey half thought out statements on the org but Sea Change being an OK Computer rip off takes the prize.

Sea Change was brilliant and very well-written. It was if Beck channeled Gordon Lightfoot on a Dust Brothers production.

Guero is his most fully-realized album, IMO.
