Lenny Kravits Records An Anti-War Song With Iraqi Music Legend Kadim Al Sahir LENNY KRAVITZ RECORDS ANTI-WAR SONG: Rocker is even joined by Iraqi music star Kadim Al Sahir.
(Mar. 27, 2003) *Apparently not concerned about the fate of the Dixie Chicks for criticizing George Bush and the war, rocker Lenny Kravitz has recorded an anti-war song. But, being mindful of radio's response to the Dixie Chicks by banning their music, Kravitz, along with a growing list of anti-war artists, has decided to release the song via the Internet. Kravitz issued his song, "We Want Peace," which he recorded last week in Miami with popular Iraqi musical star Kadim Al Sahir, on the website of Rock the Vote (http://www.rockthevote.org/). Rock The Vote is a national organization which encourages young people to become involved in politics. "I came to Rock the Vote because of its strong stance with young people as defenders of free expression," Kravitz, 38, said Tuesday. "This song for me is about more than Iraq: It is about our role as people in the world and that we all should cherish freedom and peace." This just in. Could Lenny be talking out of both sides of his mouth? Could he not be walking the talk? News reports say he hasn't voted in years. We'll get back to you on this developing story. | |
