All I can say is if she's on bed rest because of pregnancy, fine. But if this is a bold faced lie then she has serious issues. Seems like a really extreme excuse for canceling an entire tour and if she's adopting, That's even sadder. Why would you need to cancel for adoption? Just finish the tour and get on with motherhood. [Edited 4/6/16 12:12pm]

I don't get why people say this even if she has adopted you don't think you'll nedd time to bond with the child?

Easy for them to say when you don't have your own kids or don't work with families, or have family that you've witnessed be pregnant more than once. No empathy whatsoever, janet is not that brand name with the abs dancing her ass off to If, she's a human being with needs like everyone. If what happened to michael jackson at 50 was not a lesson or wake up call to people, I don't know what will be. Maybe she herself is thinking about things like this now that she's turning 50 and her parents are declining in health, we just don't know.

I suppose you're right, however something is still off about this. Poor planning or something?

A bit strange to try for a baby during the tour. Whether her and Wissam were trying before who knows? Maybe they had been trying for a while and suddenly it became more possible a few months ago when she first had surgery? Could Janet get in trouble with Live Nation for this?

I'm sad I never got to see her but being in the UK I even joked when I bought the tickets that, I'll probably end up getting my money back. lol

Anyway, I really hope if she wants it that she has a baby, 50 may be difficult but she and Wissam seem to have all the means to make things happen and to make their childs life a happy one ("inshallah" as Janet says lately). Hopefully it all goes well. Aslong as Janet stays healthy and rested if she does concieve then good for her.

It would be touching to see Janet Jackson with an offspring. Good for her mother too, to have a new life after all the harships as of late. I am not surprised that Janet would try for a child with Wissam, I mean, he's a billionaire, he can't just leave that to the Cats home. lol

Speaking of Janet as a little girl. Not to change the subject. But Kim Fields revealed on DWTS Monday. That child prodigy Janet was one of several black girls she beat out for the Ms.Butterworth commercial in 1976. I never knew that! Plus Janet didn't mention it in her book.

Janet not long after that booked "Good Times" & Kim ended up making a recurring role on there. Ironically both have made solidsuccessful comebacks recently... biggrin

Ugh!!! To some of the people in this thread. Janet has been on stage since she was 7 years old!!! Fucking 7!!!! I am personally extremely happy for her. Get you life and your baby. Forget about what the public thinks about it. As long as you and your husband are happy that's all that matters. I will always be a Stan!

This tour has been a disaster....filled with cancellations, postponements, rumors of vocal cord surgery (at one point, there were even cancer rumors!),poor ticket sales in some areas, and now the final blow: the 49-year old Janet is pregnant and is cancelling all remaining dates nuts This is unbelievable.

No they won't and rightfully so. This has been a very disappointing ordeal all around. I wish her the best of luck with whatever career direction of personal direction she chooses. I don't see music or touring as something she probably desire to do in the future.

I'm afraid this might be true. If she ever performs again, I could maybe see a Vegas residency, but not another tour. As you said - TRUST. I wouldn't trust her, and would certainly never make any serious travel plans to see her. It's a shame because she happens to be my favorite female live performer ever.

I hope this isn't the end of the line for her professionialy, because what a horrible and embarrassing way to retire. At least she went out on a musical high note. I still think Unbreakable is one of her best ever. In some ways, her very best.

I wish her the best but I believe this is it for Janet and touring. A lack of press/interviews, canceled shows, and album sales didn't make for a successful comeback. Maybe this family is what she needs at this point.

To be fair, she just came off of a 7 year hiatus so better planning could have been undertaken that did not include scheduling and then cancelling a tour. Hey but stuff happens. I take her planning a family to mean she is likely pregnant now and at her age it would be high risk so that becomes priority.

Exactly! Reading the first post she has 'delayed' her tour to start a family. She ain't preggers yet.

And at her age it won't be easy so in-vitro might be the way to go.

Actually another poster brought him up first off and I commented on the MJ mention. I did not bring him up first in this thread and make sure you lecture the troll and instigator that never gets called out for his crap. He is always antagonizing members here and nothing is done about it. Be sure to do something about it.

Congratulations! I'm sure a few fans will be pissed. But nothing is more important than family and I'm happy to hear she is starting a family. She deserves happiness.

And it seems that Wassim has made her quite happy. But happiness also comes from inside, as we know. I'd agree that at almost 50, even in the middle of the tour, if this chance comes up, then by all means take it. I was happy to hear her message today. I loved the little grin on her face when she said it, because there have been a lot more baby rumors in the last couple of years than I've ever heard before about her. It sort of sounds like she is going to carry the baby herself, which is fine, even at 49 (she's in good shape, and has access to the best care of course). She mentioned having to rest up. That could have meant just getting ready for the inevitable with a surrogate, but either way, that is going to be one beautiful baby.

With Unbreakable being so incredibly introspective, honest, layered, and amazing, I am even more curious to see what she sings about after the baby. Remember one of Madonna's biggest and most celebrated records was Ray Of Light, after Lordes was born.

Congrats to Wissam and Janet. I hope it all goes perfectly.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

nod clapping

I was already nuts watching the whole saga with this era of Janet...now THIS!? This makes absolutely no sense at all.

So I'm supposed to believe she's abandoning the tour because they've suddenly decided to start a family. Wonder how Live Nation, not to mention other entities with financial interests in this tour, are going to react to that? deal

Interesting that when I go to Livenation.com, I still see all the US shows listed and the site is still inviting me to buy tickets to them. confuse

P.S. God I wish it were possible to block posts from certain users!! rolleyes
