Blink 182 sticks out like a sore thumb. No way in hell do they deserve to be among those elite motherfuckers...but then again, this is a Rolling Stone list. They havent had solid credability in quite some time. And btw, London Calling smokes the Clash debut. May not be a "punk" album in the purest sense, but it's totally punk that they released such an ambitious album after the first 2 lps. Its punk in it's unpunkness, if you will. Get in your mouse, and get out of here!

Decent list. The Clash's "Give 'em Enough Rope" should be in there. "London Calling" is a bit too left-field to be considered a pure punk album, but there's no doubt it's one of the best albums ever. Rolling Stone had it at 8th on their own list of 500 Greatest Albums

I own most of those records and they're pretty great, except that I despise Blink 182 and have not listened to White Lung. I could sit here and bitch about why did this one and that one not make the list, like any list they ever do. But it's not surprising to me that bands like Nomeansno, the Dicks and the Crucifucks would be totally ignored by RS while bands that have become signposts for the culture like Minor Threat and Husker Du will be honored. And to my surprise I actually agree with the specific LP chosen for most of those bands. I love London Calling, and it was my first intro to the band, and it is a more artistically complete statement. But the immediacy of the debut album is incredible, such a solid and complete statement. I guess I would be happy with either choice. There seems to be little consensus on which post-1990 albums were significant, or how significant they should be compared to the 70s and 80s. I would have voted for Refused- Shape Of Punk To Come, Didjits - Hornet Pinata and Rocket From The Crypt - Circa Now! as combination of influential records/ great, unique statements at the same time.
