I've been a big fan of his ever since his excellent debut album A Strange Arrangement,but I have to be honest.These new songs aren't doing much for me I think these songs are bland....decent,but bland.Last year,Mayer and his buddy Jake One formed the band Tuxedo and released an incredibly funky,self-titled debut album.That album is fun,catchy and exciting.Unfortunately,these new songs lack that same excitement.

Thoughts?

I've only heard "Cosmic Love" and it was okay.

I really dug Where Does This Door Go? We'll see what he does with the rest of MAT.

I'm gonna wait and see how the rest of the album is.I hope that he hasn't totally abandoned the retro-R&B sounds that made his debut album so enjoyable.

I hope not, that's what I liked about his music in the first place.

as previously mentioned,the Tuxedo album is excellent! I really hope that there are plans for more Tuxedo albums in the future.

^^I also like how the video looks like it's straight outta 1982 it totally captures the retro feel of the song.

Anyways, I will be checking out his new album; Hawthorne is a great recording artist.

you want it to be simple, but others don't thnk like you. so please accept that most folks judge artists by the music they make, and not their skin.

He should be more popular. Ive always liked him.

You know what? I sorta like the fact that he isn't really popular.He's more of an underground artist and I think that's cool His last album 'Where Does This Door Go?' (with songs produced by Pharrell) was an obvious attempt to turn him into a hitmaking superstar,but I think he's much more comfortable doing his own thing.
