Female Hip-Hop in the Rock Hall. You have one vote, who goes in? Hip-Hop has been getting inducted into the Rock Hall for the past few years now. Now female acts as of yet. Me personally, I only think there are three acts to choose from. Salt n Pepa, MC Lyte or Queen Latifah (Sylvia Robinson also, but not as a performer.)
So of those three acts, you have one choice. Who makes it. Salt n Pepa MC Lyte Queen Latifah [Edited 3/18/16 22:57pm] PRINCE: Always and Forever

Lil Kim changed the whole game for girls...and her amazing voice and uncanny ability to recreate B.I.G.s rhymes and flow was/is unmatched ...

Salt N Pepa. Even MC Lyte trained her voice off their records. There were female emcees before them and after them, but it still goes back to them.

As much as I love salt n pepa I don't think either of them belong in the hall yet.

No. Off those three who deserves it the most. That's the hypothetical question. It's down to those three and only one of them can make it. S'n'P, Queen or Lyte. PRINCE: Always and Forever

LOL...people naming their personal favorites that barely made a name, or have any lasting legacy... If your answer wasnt Kim, Lyte, or Salt & Pepa, you must really have limited knowledge of hiphop history...there are no other available choices

I think Neneh Cherry is considered a "one hit wonder" in the US or maybe a "2 hit wonder", so has not much of a chance of getting in. Siouxsie And The Banshees has a better chance of being inducted than Neneh and their chances are about zero themselves. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Salt N Pepa....There is no other Female Solo/Group that deserves it more than them...Shut it down..They'll get inducted when the Good'OL boys Super-Board members die out...

Of course, within the parameters given, Salt & Pepa would be the candidates - global recognition/sales/longevity - Although Missy Elliott is defintely someone who is worthy - when eligible - Some nods to other artists though, who have helped shape/influence female Hip-Hop is not limiting in knowledge - If anything it is being holistic ~Shakalaka!~..... ~Mayday!~

Of those three, I´d say SaltNPepa...but historically, there have been much better female rappers before and after them. But they weren´t as popular as SnP.

- I'd go with SNP first year. - The real question is if it was down to one female act per year, who should get in the next year....Queen La or L.Y.T.E. ? Both ladies reigned simultaneously in the late 80's. - To this day I still love them both for different reasons. - Fourth year candidates.... Missy or L. Boogie. - I know this isn't the question at hand but I just had to embellish it a little bit.
