Yea I agree. The Jacksons are all talented. I think they should have re-branded themselves.

I think it's a total exaggeration. When you're as big as Janet was....and let's not kid ourselves, Janet was BIG....you're bound to step on a few toes and be the excuse for some people's bitterness to rear its ugly head. Even MJ gets dissed from time to time by people like Terrence Trent D'Arby and the likes.

I never really understood why Janet dissed Madonna in the first place. Wasn't it around the time of Erotica/Janet? She alluded to herself having more class than Madonna? It's always been said that it stemmed from Madonna making some below the belt comments on Michael, but of ALL the stuff said about Michael, Madonna's cheeky comments were quite harmless in comparison. If Janet was that protective over Michael, fast forward 10 or so years and Janet is all kissy, lovey and friendly repeatedly with Jay Leno on his show, who said some absolutely heinous things about her family on a regular basis.

mjscarousal said: There are too many encounters from celebrities where I hear she is just straight up rude. For instance, she appeared on that song with Shaggy (Luv me Luv me) and when Shaggy asked her if she could appear in the video, she declined and didnt want to help to promote the song (this was back in 1998) BUT she did a duet with Beenie Man, who is also a dancehall artist in 2002. Shaggy trashes Janet horribly. I don't think the trashing is out of spite but out of hurt and disappointment. Shaggy was actually pretty cool with MJ and always speaks highly of him. I always thought that came from a place of snobbery. Shaggy had some major hits in 1993 and 1996. By 1998 he wasn't having any hits and Janet was big. I assumed she didn't want to be associated with him because he was flopping. Then in 2000/2001 he came back with an even bigger hit and had the opportunity to call her out. Khia was a one hit wonder. Maybe when 20 Y.O. Was being recorded, Janet's team thought Khia would be bigger than she eventually was. Then when he turned out not to be, ties were cut. But then she turned out to be a crazy person, so maybe it was for the best. The Beenie Man collaboration (which I despised) baffled me, considering his horrible homophobic views and how outspoken Janet had been for the LGBT community in the past. She would not have associated with him during The Velvet Rope era, that's for sure.

Colabos happen...and sometimes the bigger artist decides not to push it for whatever reason. The same thing happened with Rihanna and Future and he pouted about it saying that she refused to do the video or performances to promote their song because of her beef with Ciara. No one is saying ''everyone in the industry hates Rihanna'' because of his little hissy fit

During the Janet album campaign I was invited to Virgin records in London for a meeting regarding setting up the UK Janet fanclub (I had experience working with MJ and MJJ Productions from 1989-1991). To cut a very long story short, my dealings with Janet and her team were frustrating to say the least. Janet expected me to foot the bill for setting up and maintaining her fan club. Not only that but her personal assistant Jaime Mendoza set up a couple of conference calls between Janet, her team and myself but Janet failed to attend to these calls everytime. I was just a fan hoping to give something back to Janet and I got the impression she expected me to put up with broken promises and huge debt just because I was a fan. Virgin on the other hand were lovely about the whole thing, apologetic and even showed me a rough cut of the If video (before it was released). Im still a fan, not of the woman, but of the image and the music.

There was a beef between Janet and Madonna long ago which stemmed from Madonna remarking that "Janet Jackson smelled like CORN chips" at some award show during which Janet sat either behind Madonna or in front of her. There's also the remark that Janet made with regard to her (Janet's) music having "class" in comparison to Madonna's. Who really KNOWS???? Meanwhile, Madonna's a billionaire now, has outgrossed Janet x 10, her music is STILL being certified by the RIAA and her tours are pheNOMINAL successes! SAYS sumpthin'! I love 'em BOTH! Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

According to Khia's own words a year or two ago, she said that Janet thought Jermaine Dupri (when they were dating) was f*cking Khia, or Khia was at least trying to f*ck Jermaine. They never did, but at the time, Janet was pissed. So Khia's appearance in the "So Excited" video was very, very limited. Even on the Making The Video type show about it, Khia was shown in her own little space, doing her lines without Janet or anyone else much around (other than the crew).
There's a video from Ts Madison with Khia where Khia talks about this, and even shows emails regarding something else. But in general, there's no love lost between Janet and Khia.
As far as anyone else hating her, I don't care. I love her, and always will. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
