ya know....Khia does have a point
How you gonna ask someone to appear on your song and appear in the video....and then you *edit* out their appearance?! That was wrong. In the video,it looks like they attempted to downplay Khia's involvement.

Millions of people have questioned Michael's sexuality and criticized his appearance/surgeries.Does Janet hate all of those people, too? lol..it's childish of her to act like she's "sticking up" for her brother by criticizing Madonna.
You may not have any loyalty or unconditional love for your family (I mean you are a Madonna fan, doesn't her son hate her or something? and didn't multi millionaire material girl refuse to pay for her sister's flight to her wedding to Richie a few years back). So it's no wonder you fail to grasp the concept of people disliking someone for dissing a member of her family. I know I wouldn't want to know someone who says anything against someone I'm close to. I don't think that is as you put it silly or irrational behavior. Perhaps you hit the nail on the head by answering the original poster's question to why the industry 'hates' Janet because she is fed up with people talking shit and her and her family. And is cold/ reserved because the industry is full of fakes.

Why does Graham Norton dislike her?
I know Janet and Madonna will never be friends, but I do remember Madonna defending her at the 2004 Grammy Awards. She was with Guy and a reporter asked her about the Super Bowl incident and Madonna said "What is the big deal?" Of course, it was Madonna so she would be a total hypocrite for criticizng Janet

And then saying 'you don't have to show your nipples to be entertaining' when interviewed before her own SB show. I don't care that the two don't like each other, but I do care that people are generalising that the 'industry' hated Janet like she's got a bad attitude or something.

Ever since then he has made it clear he dislikes her on his radio 2 show when he has to play her song. When 'no sleep' was first aired he said 'like a bad smell that won't go away.. She's back' after the song played 'do you think that it's ironic that the song is called no sleep' Similar catty comments about 'the great forever'. It's all very cringy and totally unprofessional on his behalf.

Paula has not been consistent of her admiration of Janet over the years. Janet did not like that Paula said that she taught her how to dance. Its obvious their relationship is strained. Even on Wendy Williams, she implied that she wasn't that close with Janet. There have been countless other celebrity stories where Janet is either shaded or not spoken of highly . Do you have any excuses for those too? There is a pattern here which is why I made the thread. I am not trying to bash Janet. I just wanted reasons and more clarity on why some celebrities shade her so openly. You don't have to be so defensive.

I honestly don't know why Janet worked with her in the first place. It was a bad idea. She could have asked anybody. Hell, she could have asked Missy. I can understand Khia's frustration though. If she was apart of the song and filmed her parts of the video. I would feel a little salty too if I was completed edited out the video on a song I was featured on BUT I do think Khia is very disrespectful and has taken her bitterness toward Janet a bit to far.

But why did she dog Shaggy though who MJ has also worked with himself? I thought it was kinda messed up she refused to be in the video on a song she featured on. I get what you are saying about Janet and I have said multiple times that the industry has been shit towards her BUT you have to also admit that Janet can be a DIVA too.

I did a quick online search to see if I could find the excerpt from his bio except I found another old org thread where he's having a go at her for recording with Beenie Man http://prince.org/msg/8/24203 Boy George slams Janet Jackson for recording with a reportedly homophobic artist... "Outrageous Janet should know better By Boy George THE very naughty Janet Jackson (go to bed with no dessert!) has sent the American gay action group OutRage into a tizzy because she has recorded a duet with reggae singer Beenie Man. Some years back, Beenie sat at the top of the reggae charts for 16 weeks with a song called Boom Bye Bye about gunning down homosexuals, which proves that the “wind and grind” fraternity are homophobic to the extreme. When Beenie Man and Shabba Ranks appeared on the now defunct music show The Word, they were united in their hatred of gays. Shabba ruined his career by saying: “All gays should be crucified.” Forgetting, perhaps, that listening to his musie was pain enough. Hosting The Word was Mark Lamarr, who recently assured me that Beenie had become righteous – meaning he has fully embraced his Rastafarian religion and sings of love for Jah, his god, and not songs about killing poofs. Shabba repented after his record sales plummeted and disappeared into the abyss, despite publicly apoligising. Beenie, as far as I know, showed no remorse but grew his hair and picked up an acoustic guitar. Not good enough, is it? It’s a bit like Saddam Insane saying: “These missiles are actually oversized Havana cigar cases.” OutRage are calling on Janet’s fans to bin her records in the same way that Donna Summer was hounded out of the pop scene in the Seventies for allegedly saying: “Aids is God’s punishment of gays.” She denies the statement to this day. Of course, I must go back to Sir Elton John’s ill-advised duet with Eminem. Then, ageing rocker Neil Young said that if a “fag” served him a meal in restaurant, he’d spit in it and send it back. I once caught Glen Campbell dissing my sexuality on Breakfast TV but it didn’t stop me loving his ditty, Wichita Lineman. I just felt a bit sad because how can you work in the music industry without bumping into a poof or two? For a start, many stylists, make-up artists and dancers are homosexual. Janet Jackson might owe much of her fame and style to the team of queer stylists and warpaint-mongers, and should know better. However, I’ve met her and she is, I assure you, a twit of the highest order. She exudes a fake sincerity that makes my skin crawl. One can have more respect for a proper redneck because they are raised on hatred and bigotry, but a musician who embraces ignorance has no excuse. Perhaps Janet and her mate Beenie could give the proceeds of the record to an Aids food chain. After all, it’s the African nation that is suffering the biggest Aids crisis."

Khia is not in the industry lbr.
But in regards to Paula, i've always wondered what happened with them. Maybe she has a big ego? i dont know.
This is the first i've really heard of people bashing Janet though.

It sounds believable cause of her good girl image before the Janet album. But I can't see her doing that after velvet rope era but who knows? The director said it was a publicity stunt and 2pAcs bro said it was true

Janet Jackson is hated because
1.) She always kept her personal life private
2.) She has proven from day one she did not ride her brother's coattails like the narrative now suggests
3.) She unleashed that billion dollar manifesto a couple of years ago
4.) One of the only artists male or female in the history of music who owns her own master recordings........
a recipe for hatred | |

SoulAlive said: People think of Janet as this sweet, nice lady but in the early 90s,she was going around dissing Madonna for no apparent reason.Madonna was even asked about it in this interview:
From my knowledge Janet didn't go after Madonna until Madonna dissed her sister Latoya for doing strange things to boost her profile. She basically said Latoya was resorting to desperation for lack of talent which didn't sit well with Janet. You know siblings generally have each other's back no matter what. Don't laugh at my funk

Being too powerful in money and status in the industry straight to the bank, that's what When did Janet say she didn't like people saying Paula taught her how to dance? I can't remember an interview like that. As for the question about fans, I talked to a long time Janet/mj fan during invincible time who met Janet around the time of the euro your getting cancelled and she wasn't what she thought, and even went out of her way to say a few things. Maybe tour cancellations from a business standpoint may have been the start of it, preceding the superbowl

Being reserved and being unfriendly are two different things. I know a lot of people who are shy and reserved but are still very friendly and polite. Janet comes off as very pretentious. She seems to be friendly with people she wants to be friendly with. There have been a ton of accounts made by celebrities of things she has done and said that have been not "so nice." She probably is a nice person but I generally hear that from people who are friends with her not other random celebrities. [Edited 3/27/16 15:31pm] She's even trained without choice to be image conscious and she keeps up boundaries more often than most people, that's how she got shit done, lasted longer than a lot of her peers and kept herself from getting overexposed or close to people she didn't want to get close to or heard a thing about. I question how she turned down certain roles and things like that but maybe she just wanted to not be overexposed and was smart about it. If she'd finished velvet rope, suddenly appeared in matrix, x men, nutty 2 and then put out all for you, she would have exhausted people for example. Just the kind of thing beyonce would do we would complain about. I think her silence on this tour matter is arrogant and hope it works out [Edited 3/28/16 8:09am] [Edited 3/28/16 8:11am]

I'm not a Jackson fan at all whether it's Stonewall or Michael or Browne or anybody (although Samuel L is pretty cool and Joe too and I don't mean Michael's/Jan's father), so I'm completely neutral, I'm like Switzerland, I just have a few thoughts on the Bob, I mean Boy George memoir as quoted by MynameisnotSusan:
1) Just because you've met somebody once doesn't mean you know her. 2) Africa is not a nation. [Edited 3/28/16 11:42am] [Edited 3/28/16 11:44am]

as to the "fakeness" Boy George talked about---- I'll always remember Tupac saying she gave him her phone number and then, after filming, immediately changed her number. Which seemed to have hurt him greatly. The way he spoke of it, he sincerely saw her as a friend and it was clear she didn't see him that way.

Well, as far as the Paula Abdul thing goes, Ms. Abdul choreographed The Jacksons video, TORTURE. So, then Janet hired her to choreograph, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY, NASTY, and WHEN I THINK OF YOU. Both Janet and Abdul came up with the dance 'the snake' for WHEN I THINK OF YOU. So, maybe Abdul did the complete choreograph for all three vids. Maybe she didn't. Abdul was let go from choreographing or helping to choreograph anymore of Jackson-Wissam's videos when it was found out that Abdul was having an affair with Jackie Jackson.
Madonna said, MJ looked like a woman dressed as a man and Janet looked like a man dressed as a woman. She would try to boss MJ around and he wasn't having it. janet took it more personally than MJ.
If some in the industry have a problem with her, regardless of those who disagree with the moves she'd made or is making, she must be doing something right. she's still here like afew others from the 70s and 80s.

Michael was reclusive, yes but Michael was still warm and friendly. Most all celebrities that meet him talk about how intelligent, nice, sweet, funny and normal he was compared to how he was portrayed BUT with Janet I always hear celebrities comment on how rude she is and how they had a bad encounter.
L.A. Reid said Janet was the most difficult artist he had to work with (LA is an asshole but that is what he said)
Kevin Hart said that Janet was the worst encounter he had on Wendy.
Tina Landon said there falling out was due to Janet.
And there are plenty more, they all can't be lying.
