Billboard: Madonna"s Rebel Heart Tour Surpasses $100 Million Mark (Her total tour gross reaches 1 billion)

The diva's total reported touring grosses recently reached $1 billion.

Madonna takes the No. 2 slot on the latest Hot Tours roundup (see list, below) based on January ticket sales reported from her ongoing Rebel Heart Tour that covered North American and European markets during a 15-week span in the fall. The trek resumed on Jan. 6 following a two-and-a-half week break at the end of the year, opening with a two-show engagement at Mexico City’s Sports Palace arena. Sold out shows in seven U.S. cities followed in January along with a two-night stint in San Juan, Puerto Rico at the end of the month.
Altogether during the first month of the year, the pop diva performed for just over 150,000 fans at 12 concerts, adding $19.3 million to her tour’s overall gross that has now topped the $100 million mark. Since the Sept. 9 opening performance in Montreal, the Rebel Heart tour has reached $107.3 million in ticket sales at 61 concerts. A total of 819,792 fans have seen the tour in 14 countries through the end of January.

Here's the setlist from the intimate acoustic Tears of a Clown snow. It's amazing how she did almost a completely different setlist from her regular tour. And plenty of American Life tracks which we thought we'd never hear!

It is rumored this was filmed and will be released on DVD with the regular tour.

  1. Send in the Clowns (from Stephen Sondheim's 1973 musical A Little Night Music)
  2. Drowned World/Substitute for Love
  3. X-Static Process
  4. Between the Bars (Elliott Smith cover)
  5. Nobody's Perfect
  6. Easy Ride
  7. Intervention
  8. I'm So Stupid
  9. Paradise (Not for Me)
  10. Joan of Arc
  11. Don't Tell Me
  12. Mer Girl
  13. Borderline
  14. Take a Bow
  15. Holiday

I'm amazed at how much this show has evolved since it began. She's been adding different songs, including some surprises....and now she's doing a full acoustic set! Very interesting.

She has actually done Take A Bow a few times on the regular RHT starting in Asia. And she did it again last night in Melbourne.

I am intrigued by her Melbourne set list. American Life was a very major album for me. But I am still a little vexed at why she chose so many tracks for her Australian return.

That set list was only for the acoustic "Tears of a Clown" small show she did in Melbourne for the fan club. She chose AL tracks because they lend themselves to acoustic performances.

She also did two large scale arena shows in Melbourne which had a similiar set list to the rest of the RH Tour. The regular RHT does not have any AL tracks.

Maybe as a way of giving the Aussie fans a chance to hear songs from the tours they missed (ie Drowned World, Re-Invention) Probably as they are very personal songs that show her vulnerability, which I think was the point of the show. "Look at me, I'm dressed as a clown, but I'm sad inside"
