Earth wind and fire Tour Has anyone seen Earth Wind and Fire on their current or recent tours - and are they still a good live act with the current line up? I've just got tickets for their Paris show at the end of June, really looking forward to working my way through their catalogue over the next few months in the lead up to it. Obviously very familiar with their hits but seems like there's lots more to explore too, started with their debut and really enjoying it so far

Although EW&F will never be as great as they were in their heyday with the original line up, the current line up ain't too shabby. I went to see them in 2013 with my son and we both thought they put on a good show. I was surprised that the original lead singer Philip Bailey can still hit those falsetto notes when he wants to. Original bassist Verdine White (Maurice's brother) is still with the group, too. Thatshow made my son want to dig farther into their back catalogue on his own, despite the fact that he heard me play their music his whole life already. Go and enjoy the show. I saw them last year and it was a great show. They are very polished and sound great. Of course, nothing would compare to their 70's heyday with the great costumes and Maurice. They had a VIP pass you could buy to meet the guys backstage and get a framed photo after the show, which I did. (Overpriced, but whatever, it's EWF). Verdine was super nice-he's a cool guy. Phillip Bailey acted like he'd rather be elsewhere and was going through the motions.
