Beyonce [over]reaching for demigod status?

After watching THAT^ short clip, it had me thinking. hmmm

Is the real purpose for Beyonce getting new management (READ: new handlers) is that she going for lifetime demigod status? Is Beyonce really convince that she belongs in the same sentence as Elvis, The Beatles (especially John), Stevie, David, Michael, Madonna, 2pac, and even Prince in terms of being a cultural transending icon?

Is she going to create a herstory statue of herself anytime soon? smile if she did it would be an insult to all women who don't have her money and fame, what has she struggled with? Part of the reason those artists before her were iconic and legendary was for their authenticity, she doesn't have that. She's very talented but she's a biter and imitator mainly.

You know, Cam Newton & Beyonce have the same psychological problem: The Feelings Of Having A Sense Of Entitlement.

There is no such thing as convince. She believes she is on the same level as MJ. She pretty much made her point known at the Super Bowl....

Great video.

Too many artists are often criticized for lacking a social message when in reality we know they have opinions on various situations but choose to stay silent as their love for fame and money "trumps" all, and for those performers the artistry is simply a tool to aide thier business ventures. An after thought to thier brand/product..

now in regards to "Formation" the lyrics and the video dont match per se. clearly the treatment was made after the songs production was completed, but thats ok we are going to let that slide on the strength of the following line;

"Mix That Negro With That Creole, Make A Texas Bama"

.

Beyonce's new political video is miles ahead making the likes of Katy Perry cheerleading for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign seem even more irrelevant to anyone white and over the age of 65.

"Jazz? no....It's social music" - Miles Davis

.

I can see the political message in the video, but the lyrics to me are too solipsistic to be an anthem for anyone but Queen Bey.

Police and Military "Formation" is a scare tactic used by the police and military to intimidate people. It is often observed in nature by predatory animals.

I knew when Adele sold 7 million copies of her album in 7 minutes, Beyonce was going to come out swinging, trying to get the spotlight back on herself. lol But, I don't care what she does, she will never get Adele's numbers. I only saw a 15 second snippit of her Superbowl performance. Her vocals sounded atrocious.

I dont think she is cornering Adele's 'startbucks' audience with this form of expression.

If she wanted to do that there were many other ways to go about it.

She's already a cultural icon. Like it or not she has a rabid fanbase, a body of work, and a few huge cultural moments( Single Ladies for example). I'm no beyonce fan, but she made it.

Did Prince ever deny he had sex with his sister? I believe not. So there U have it..

And straight men in their early 20s have excellent taste in music? Please bitch. Most straight male artists remind us of the obnoxious men who have disrespected us countless times, and make music exclusively for women. Stop attacking us for not liking them. Women like all these female artists that you think are shit too.

Well guess what folks she is at that point where she is gonna do shit to get noticed, AGE is now NOT on her side and like they all did before, Madonna, Janet, Prince, MJ etc...they all fell from the thrones

Well, Jay Z is 12 years older and still relevant, so we'll see what happens. I feel she has a more devoted following than Janet, Whitney and Mariah in the 90s who were popular more because of their hits than their status.

Not really about fans that you have, musically she is at that point, lets remember people like Mariah were selling 5-10 million of one album at their height, Beyonce is part of the era where music doesnt sell or if it does you are lucky to sell a million. So big picture is she may be seen by tons more because she social media is now what the focus is not the work you put out

Thats pretty much the point. They were SUPERstars because of their music. Beyonce is a social media star but that doesn't mean she has a more devoted following.
