Art Of Noise "The Ambient Collection"

This album has been a beacon in my life and collection since 1990. It was playing in the background at a small summer house party and I was the only one paying it any mind while the others in attendance were smoking weed outside. If there are any fellow Ambient junkies out there who are familiar with the sound here and can recommend some similar sounding CD's, would u let me know? I'd appreciate it! I don't do Moby (not a big fan), BUT, I love bleeps, glitches and the softer electronic side of the genre. Recently, I bought Oval's "Diskont 94" and can't get enuff of it! I'm also a big Eno fan and LOVE the first couple of tracks on Towa Tei's "Future Listening" CD from '96. Thanks! Peace! <3

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

Big ambient and AON fan but I don't even remember what The Ambient collection sounds like, must give it another try.

.

I really recommend an artist named Pinkcourtesyphone. You can buy the digital albums here https://richardchartier.bandcamp.com/ or take a listen at https://soundcloud.com/richard-chartier it's not what you would call traditional ambient (if such a thing exists) it's very experimental. Beautiful though. he also does gorgeous dj mixes of ambient and left field electronica, these can be found at https://www.mixcloud.com/...dchartier/

.

My taste in ambient veers more towards horror/death/dark ambient but i'm not averse to something more pretty and Pinkcourtesy is that and a lot more.

I never liked any of their other stuff. Only "The Ambient Collection." Isn't that funny? That was my first taste and I haven't shaken it since 1990! smile

Who's Afraid Of The Art Of Noise was one of the first albums I bought when I was about 10 years old. I still don't think I've recovered yet. It's great, but it still freaks me out.
