Possibly Coming Soon...Aretha Franklin Gumbo? http://www.huffingtonpost...033aaedaa9
It appears Aretha Franklin wants a piece of Patti LaBelle’s sweet potato pie success. Well, sort of.
During an interview with Detroit’s WDIV Local 4 news on Wednesday, Franklin was asked by a correspondent if she tried LaBelle’s popular Wal-Mart sweet potato pie.
“No, I haven’t, but Ms. Patti’s gonna have to move that pie to the side,” Franklin said before sharing that she is currently working with a Phoenix-based food group to launch her very own line of food products.
The Queen of Soul says her line of products will include chili, gumbo and baked chicken.
I didn't jump on the Auntie Patti Sweet Potato Pie bandwagon because I really don't care much for pies of any kind. But I'm not playing, I will show out for some good Gumbo.
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart. |

Anything purchased frozen or in damn bag isn't the real deal. SORRY. You want home made cooking you better cook it yourself, learn how to cook, or hired a cook. The end.
Now, what else are we gonna talk about.... |

Oh I know HOW to cook. Sometimes I just don't WANT to cook, especially Gumbo. I make a big ol' pot of it, once a year. And I freeze myself some before everybody and their Momma, Grandmomma, Uncle Pete and Cousin Bubba show up with bowls and spoons. But that's a lot of damn work. Sometimes I just want some good Gumbo for lunch, on a cold Monday afternoon, in February. So skip what you're talking about. Auntie ReRe bring on the GUMBO!!

Sadly, drinking water can kill you now-a-days, the residents of Flint, MI are testifying to that every day. But I do understand what you mean though. That's why for the most part of the last few years, I've started gardening and growing my own vegetables. I've taken a course on proper canning methods, so I can preserve my harvests.
But if I have to go by food poisoning, death by some damn good Gumbo would be the likely suspect. And y'all better AVENGE ME, damn it!!

you so crazy... GO, ahead eat ReRe's Gumbo, I'll put you on my church prayer list.
You speaking to the woman who's mother had to back hand a couple times when wasn't paying attention to her canning and cooking. Mom knows. I don't go to the store for very much these days...we stopped going to the grocery decade ago. If I can grow it, pick up at the local farm market (that also grows their own food) it doesn't land on our table.
As far a water....
Hell, Lake Michigan right out side my door. Push come to shove I have my brother build me a purification machine. I'm saying that as a joke but the shit getting stranger than fiction... it may come to that... |

Shiiiit! Orgnote me, that's the kind of insurance, I don't mind paying for.
I bought a small rain barrel, this past summer, to catch the run-off from my gutters. That I used in lieu of my in ground sprinkler system. Not every day but from time to time. I swear I happened to be coming home a few days ago and I noiticed a utilty looking truck that I was not familiar with, sitting in front of my house, taking pictures. I politely pulled up next to them and asked, "What the hell are you doing?" Come to find out, they were an independent engineering, contracted by Detroit Water and Sewage because they intend to take me to court and "fine" me, about my little ass rain barrel. #EnoughIsEnough

It's illegal in some states to catch and use rain water. Damn right, enough is enough.
People even get harassed when it's not illegal. I heard a rumor that they monitor everybody who's trying to live off the grid.

On topic I wouldn't want to eat like Re-re on a regular basis but a treat once in a while wouldn't hurt. I wonder if it's her real recipe or just licensing her name. I think that's what Patti did.

I heard about this recently on Wendy Williams she made it seem like it was a beef between the two. They both have admiration for one another. I just think Aretha was just clowning when she said about Patti moving that pie to the side. Its all a joke. Its funny how media takes something and make a big deal... |

When my brothers comes up this summer, we are going to talk about building us a system. I'will let you know. HH.
Oh girl who you tellin'... ILL, IN, Mich, they send through hoops to put up solar panels. Don't speak of put in a sub-pump to water grass... you are suppose to pay the Water Company for sucking water out of the damn ground. Its doesn't have anything to do with their system but you are charge anyway. Most folks know, have someone that put the damn sub-pump anyway... |

That is a damn shame, especially with what's going on in Flint. They have the nerve to still be charging people for that water. smdh.
