I think he got most of the money together from a gofundme type setup.

This looks good. And, yeah, he does look like an asshole. Maybe they should not show too many trailers.....lol. There will probably be more ticket sales for garbage movies like "50 shades of Black". I wonder what a movie about Prince would look like if it were done right. -- A genius. But at the end of the day, he is just a super religious dick?

i will definitely check this out. i don't know much about Miles' life so I won't be the jaded fan looking for EVERY detail to be conveyed in 2 hours. Love Don Cheadle. great casting. He even got the voice right. I wonder if his marriage to Pearl Cleage will make the cut. Assholery not withstanding (aren't we all, often? If org alone posts are an indication, and me thinks they are!), THIS is a biopic that needed to made. i'd say the industry related assholery Miles is guilty of is JUSTIFIED, that ALWAYS is.

Right! B/c he sure does seem like an extreme asshole! But a talented one! I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yeah, is a lot deeper than that fluff.... another bio-fiction film.

I'm begining to feel like Jimmy Fallon. -// The movies cover the 70s so you will get to see plenty of asshole behavior since that is important to you.

He was not married to Pearl Cleage do you mean Betty Davis.

1970's? Nobody could name a Miles Davis album from the 70's without doing a Google Search. If his music career was based on the 70's... it would be Miles Davis who? If they had done a straight bio-pic... it wouldn't be watchable, he was that lowdown. As the Chinese proverb says, Don't blame the mirror because you are ugly."

My God I cant wait for this!! From what I've read in the paper the story (looking for stolen music reels) is fictional. But this movie looks like it will satisfy the Miles fans. Hollywood has been talking about a Miles biopic since the late 80's...(Wesley Snipes/directed by Spike Lee)..but I think this film will be much better. Hopefully this film will do for Don what "Ray" did for Jamie Foxx.

Now we know how Prince got the ideas around master tape obsessions.
Imagine cricket with a gun ordering people around? He does order people around, but the bodyguards have the gatts. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Looks great and I can't wait to see it.
Yes, Miles was an asshole. He was also a dark skinned black musician during the era of segregation and that context is VERY important to understanding the man and his legacy...

didn't you google that? I'm joking...
Many of most folks couldn't... that's because in the scheme of things "Bitches Brew" wasn't what made Davis. To cherry pic his life and music is disingenuous... I have me reasons why they felt they had to. (IMHO)

always a negative nancy in the threads...Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

I've always liked his "attitude"..........even thou I'm not a jazz (social music) fan. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.

The average person probably couldn't name a Miles Davis album from any decade, unless they're a jazz fan. It's not like he was mainstream popular and had a lot of radio hits. I would guess more people heard of Psy than Miles. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

It is one of the records that changed jazz and to sell about 50k a year plenty of people know about it. Tired of your ignorance about black culture and music.
