As a holiday gift to fans, Bruce Springsteen has made available as a free MP3 download a series of previously unreleased live recordings from a November 5, 1980 concert he played with The E Street Band in Tempe, Arizona, at his Live.BruceSpringsteen.net website.

The 10 performances come from the same show documented in the live video that's included with Springsteen's new The Ties That Bind: The River Collection box set. The songs, which include renditions of "Darkness on the Edge of Town," "Candy's Room" and "Backstreets," are ones that weren't filmed for concert video.

The recordings, which only will be available for free for a limited time, were mixed by acclaimed engineer Bob Clearmountain.

The 10-song collection also can be purchased now in a high-res digital formats, while a CD version of the release can be pre-ordered now and will ship in mid-January.

The show that yielded the recordings took place at Arizona State University during the tour in support of Springsteen's 1980 album, The River.

There's a live show for sale on Bruce's site from 1980. Buy it. Not the free show. But a full, gigantic set. It's so fucking good. Seriously, check it out.
