OK, I'm gonna need some other folks opinions on this one.....

One of my all-time favorite bands and musical influences is The Clash, while my friends fave is Guns-N-Roses. He says that they are way better than the "only band that matters". I obviously disagree, and so I'm gonna need more people to back me up on this one.

GnR wish they were The Clash

let me edit: GnR became a band that represented everything that music like The Clash was against. GnR became a bl;oated self righteous corporate machine. The Clash did too to an extent but lets just say they didn'y sell-out to th e extent that GnR did. GnR wanted to be The Stones and Elton John mixed together and to. The Clash wanted to be a voice for something.

The Clash have always meant more to me than Guns n Roses ever have. They're entirely different animals though, bananas and watermelons. It all depends on what caters to your sensibilities. G n R are still to this day trying to hang on for dear life by Axl's fingernails, when Axl should have packed it up years ago. Isnt he the ONLY original member left? The Clash had the good sense to go their seperate ways before they could potentially became a parody of themselves. Having said all that, I still dig "Mr. Brownstone", yet I'd never spend any money on GnR. The Clash? Not only do I prefer them, they have my respect.

I Dig The Clash no doubt but they never fully moved me like Guns N Roses.GNR were Loud,Brass&Came at you.they were Musically Respected&Also Sold Alot of Records which truly does matter no matter what anyone says.when you are in tuned with your Audeince People Respond.it was just a few months back not far from where I Live that GNR played&they still caused a Riot.they still have that Spark.Joe Strummer RIP but I doubt seriously The Clash could still bring the just the "Hype" Factor that Guns&Roses Brought&Still cause that kind of Excitement IMHO.G&R had alot of Influences&Brought them all in as one.even though there Performance at last Year's MTV Video Awards was rather Corny overall the Hype of them being there spoke volumes.that they have been away without a Record for 10 Years&still can Sell out a Place Site on Seen speaks Highly of them.I Wish Guns&Roses would come on board when Michael Jackson Tours again with the Real Band Members? Slash&Matt Kick Ass IMHO.I Miss them Guys. All Acts in the music Business Sell-Out.if you don't then you are seating in Hammer's Church Swaying or outside looking in like Meatloaf.Guns&Roses Over Here.

I've been listening to the new Essential Clash compilation like crazeee. The sound is fantastic. It really ROCKS.

GNR.. eh. Some great songs, but nowhere in the same league as The Clash.
