80's Singer Colonel Abrams Sick & Homeless

https://www.gofundme.com/5kcv2etg

We have been successful in getting Colonel Abrams admitted into a NJ Hospital where he will undergo test as well as have a thorough health assessment to determine what course of treatment he will need to get him on the right path with the hopes of getting him back on stage.

Your gracious donations have been very helpful in assisting him in his immediate housing needs thus far which he is most grateful. Our next course of action is to assist him with final housing accomodations that will sustain him once he is released from the hospital.

The funds raised from the benefit on January 14 at Super Club XL, coupled with the gofundme funds will be used to compliment the long term social services and additional expenses that his health plan most likely will not cover, such as his permanent housing needs.

The Colonel has a very serious uphill health battle and it's our hopes to put him in the best possible position to meet the upcoming challenges both financially and physically.

Thank you for your donations and please encourage others to continue to donate as well so as to help our brother out.

We wish to thank Derek Jenkins and his family our New Jersey part of the team for the awesome and tremendous amount of support they are providing the Colonel, in addition to the rest of Team Colonel.....Don Welch, Barbara Tucker, Julie Black, Larkie, Bea Montgomery as well as Sam Soul Finger and again Marshall Jefferson for his valuable support.

Former MCA recording artist Colonel Abrams is reportedly in very poor health and homeless and in need of financialassistance. The eighties singer had several hits on the now defunct MCA label including “Trapped”, “How Soon We Forget” and “Not Gonna Let.” The organizers of a fundraiser, including Don Welch and Tony “Tune” Herbert, are calling on Abrams fans and industry contacts to donate whatever they can to help theformer house music star who has fallen on very hard times and he is in need of medical attention.

Chicago House musician Marshall Jeffersonrecently launched a campaign to crowdfund his next album turned around and asked those donating to help Colonel Abrams instead. He stated in a video: “As most of you may or may not know, a lot of recording artist don’t have medical coverage or benefits.” He went on to say… “The Colonel is very ill with no permanent place of his own to live at this time and limited financial resources. Those of us who have listened to his awesome music and know of his plight, have banded together to try to help him through this rough patch.” Here is the crowdfunding page

Abrams had a fantastic voice. Too bad he was not promoted much outside of the dance music crowd.
